Bug? Linking to the apocrypha is slow

When I click on results from the Old Testament Quotations and Allusions in the New Testament in a guide, I notice a sensible delay in opening up a resource with the apocrypha (in my case the NRSV) as compared to a Bible reference (I don't hold the apocrypha as Bible so I mean a reference from one of the 66 books).

Is there a difference opening NRSV direct from the reference in the resource because I don't experience any delay, nor is there any difference opening NRSV for Is 49.8? Note: I use the right click menu as NRSV is not my preferred bible.

The obvious thing to check would be whether you have an apocrypha (or Bible with an apocrypha) prioritised fairly high up. If not, Logos will have to search a fair bit through your library until it finds one.

Mark, this seems to be the answer. I placed the NRSV in the prioritized list and now it does open instantly. Thanks for the tip. It might be good to add this tip to the wiki.
This leads to another question beyond the original one: why such delays without prioritization when there is such a time-consuming indexing process? I understand prioritization as I want resource A to appear in my results before resource B but I did not understand it as resource A being more "optimized" than resource B. How does all this relate to the index and in the final analysis, what does the index really do?
The other related question is whether there is a hidden command somewhere that allows one to specify a default resource for the apocrypha as there was (if I recall correctly) in L3? It seems backward that L4 should waste much time looking for a resource to open the apocrypha with when I only have a couple resources that fit the bill.

The problem with the apocrypha is that it uses the same reference type as Bibles (understandably). Therefore if you have lots of Bibles prioritised, Logos 'opens' each of those Bibles, and looks for the reference to the apocrypha in turn. There is an index per resource for quickly looking up whether the reference exists, but resource still needs to be opened to check. As you point out, that's not optimal, and a major cause of Logos slowness in things like the parallel resources menu and the commentaries section of Passage Guide (though some improvements have been made there). I don't remember there being such a command in L3. However, you can use advanced prioritisation to do this. Just add the NRSV high up in your prioritisation list (say after your 5 preferred Bibles). Right-click and choose advanced prioritisation. Set Apply only to "Bible (NRSV)", and set in this range to "Tobit - 4 Maccabees".

Again many thanks, Mark. And again, I would suggest adding this to the wiki if it's not there already. Blessings.

It is mentioned at Note 2 here, where Advanced Prioritization is not strictly necessary provided it is the first bible with the Apocrypha and i don't want to restrict its use to that range only. Being placed 5th or 6th in the list ensures it will appear on the right-click Context menu without any performance penalty (in my case!).
