Mine has been running for over 3 hours now. I an uninstall and reinstalled to no avail. Clicking anywhere on the menu causes a crash so there seems to be no way around the eternal indexing.
I am not sure how long it's suppose to take, but it's using a crazy amount of resources to run. It's nuts. Logos4Indexer is stealing whatever it can from Mac OS X.
For users with large libraries, a small amount of RAM, or a slow computer a 3 hour + indexing time is not uncommon. DO NOT cancel or interrupt the indexing process once it starts! If you have, you may need to contact Logos support to get it working again.
Though indexing is much faster than it used to be, in the early days of the beta, indexing could take over 12 hours. It shouldn't take that long anymore, but it can take a very, very long time.
Be patient. After the initial indexing, subsequent indexing should not take nearly that long.
EDIT: I didn't notice that this was the MAC forum. But the information should be the same, as far as I know.
Uh oh. I interrupted the indexing thinking that I had a corrupted installation. I re-installed, and there was no resumption of indexing.
I have already been messing around for half the day with this, and need to get some work done! [:|]
how do you restart it? I stopped it a couple of times.
Indexing takes several hours. Logos has a LOT of information to index so searching can be done quickly. Logos tech will have to tell you how to get working what you stopped, but please for everyone else reading along, be patient.

Reports are coming in of Logos4 for Windows taking up to 45 minutes to begin downloading, let alone indexing. Heavy traffic on the servers at Logos are slowing things down for everyone today.
Be patient. Go for a walk. Read a 'dead tree' Bible. . . .
mine has been installing/downloading/indexing for like 5 hours now... UgghhhhGod is using Logos in my sanctification process...
Does anyone know how to see progress or time remaining or anything??
Is the time in the hover shown in minutes or hours? Mine has been running for hours already and the time shown just keeps going up. It currently says "21:29". Hopefully it's not going to take 21 more hours while it eats up 100% of my CPU and over 1GB of memory.

hey guys -
off subject question - how do u create a signature for the forum?

You can pause it for 4 hours...I know that much. I believe your right click on the item in the system tray.
As far as how long it takes. If you take the absolute most amount of time you will tolerate the indexing and subtract 15 minutes...right around there :-)

Indexing has taken more than several hours. It has been indexing for two days now...when does it ever end? Is this normal?
Agustin,
We need to know the specs of your computer and the size of your library before we can help...
Macbook Pro 2.2 Ghz and 4 GB of RAM

Thanks.
