Another Idea... :)

Intelli Search ...

Some Commenatries are geared more towards Language analysis of a verse. (may differ from verse to verse - thus this idea :)
Some are toward the historical setting of the verse. (again, may differ from verse to verse, this idea considers this :)

And some are toward the context and meaning of the already translated text.  (see above :)

I think it would be neat if we could search our commentaries about a specific verse
and pull up only the results we wanted, such as : language analysis geared, historical analysis geared,
or Context/Meaning geared comentaries on that particular verse (these commentaries could be categorized by Logos default verse by verse in to these three categories - user changeable of course :). Seeing as how most of us have so many commentaries, I think it would be nice to be able to pull out only those we are interested in at the time.

Logos could do this by categorizing "Generally" each commentary for each verse, with user changing capabilities. Kind of like the user programable ranking system.

Again this is an idea for a user programable verse-by-verse commentary categoriztion system using the above 3 mentioned categories.

Let me Know what You think!

This is already possible.  I would assume that each user is acquainted with the commentaries he owns and their characteristics so it is possible to categorize them according to their proclivities and search whatever category is desired.

    Hello,

Yes friend I thought of this. In many commentaries all three above mentioned categories are present, varies from verse to verse often. Your reply refers to the overall familiarization of the General contents of the commentary at hand. This idea refers to a more specific approach going from the one entire commentary category to a verse by verse categoriztion throughout the commentaries. Maybe a far fetched idea, I just figured instead of all of us going through each of our categories to find all pertinant "historical" (for example) information, Logos could already have it identified and indexed for us :)

    Thanks!

    (Provided I understand you correctly:)

Can you imagine what that would cost? I suspect you'd have to pay as much for one commentary as you now pay for a full set.

    Hello  :)

As deep as Logos has already gone with each letter of all of the Biblical Languages (tags), I did not see this as much of a feat :)

But I do see what you were saying  :)

    Thanks!
