Confusion over Bible and Spade Collections - Help!?!

Bible and Spade Collection: $79.95 - 1972-2005
Bible and Spade Collection, version 2: $49.95 - 1972-2008
From what I can gather, version 2 is the more complete collection and the price difference is due to the fact that "version 1" was a CD-ROM whereas version 2 is download...correct? There is some confusion in the descriptions though because on the version 2 page, it says that "This title is included as part of the following collections: [version 1] for $79.95...buy now and save"...but the page itself says that version 2 contains everything in "version 1" plus the 2006-2008 issues. Something doesn't add up. Can someone clear all this confusion up for me?

That's a question I would address to a sales person. Email sales@logos.com if you don't have a relationship with a particular sales rep.

I figured it was worth raising here because there are some issues that need to be corrected and/or clarified on the product pages...isn't this where those issues are to be posted?

Yes indeed, but if you need the help now to make a purchase decision you'll probably get a quicker answer from email. And presumably the website maintenance folks will see your comment here eventually and clear up the confusion on the web pages.

OK, thanks Rosie. I'm in no hurry...though I realize that my thread title probably made it look like I was [:p]
I just noticed the confusing discrepancies when I was trying to clean up my "wishlist"
Thanks!

I just went to Galaxie's web site and looked at their store for Logos and got the following message:
Galaxie said:NOTE: All Galaxie Logos products are now sold through the Logos online store. Please visit http://www.logos.com/galaxie to order.
Also note that all tech support is now handled through them. When I clicked the link, it took me to Galaxie's Logos product page. I noticed that version 2 was the only one listed. I'm thinking that maybe Galaxie's intent is to not sell version 1 any more. Version 1's picture when you do a general search is clearly marked as Libronix.

I got a Bible and Spade CD with The Ultimate Archaeology Collection (no longer available) and it only has through Volume 13. (2000.) [:(]
I searched ABR's website for an upgrade from 2000~2008 but found nothing. I guess I should be happy the Collection #2 is cheaper than Collection #1.
Does this mean I have Collection # 0.5 ?

Well, if that's the case, then there are even more issues that need correcting...the product page for version 2 says:
"Thirty-four years of archaeological journalism are all encompassed into
electronic format with the Bible and Spade Collection, version 2. The
Logos Bible Software version is an updated version which also contains
not only the same resources as the Bible and Spade Collection, but includes the issues from 2006–2008."and also:
"This product is not a subscription to Bible and Spade. However, it includes all periodicals issued from 1972 to 2008."

I'm still holding out hope that the Collection makes a return as a downloadable resource...

Thanks Rick...that would make sense. Whatever the case, hopefully Logos can clean up the product pages to clarify the issue(s).

The upgrade DVD they are offering now has dates of 2005~2008
How is a user supposed to fill the 2001~2004 gap?

It probably will. Bibliotheca Sacra 1-90 just recently made a return as a downloadable resource and that has been the trend. They seem to cut off availability of the CD versions before making the downloadable ones available. Maybe because they are out of stock and don't want to bother making more (which might not all sell) when they know they're almost done with the downloadable version.

I checked my resources, I have 34 volumes of Bible and Spade from 1972-2008 inclusive, minus 1984-86 when it was not published (note the Volume numbers started over in 1987.)
I checked my records, and at least at one time there was an upgrade 2001-2008 you could purchase from ABR for 49.00. Here is what my line item said:
Bible and Spade CD-ROM Volume II
Item #, Bible and Spade CD-ROM: Logos Theological Journal
Upgrade, 2001-2008
I bought this in Feb 2010. This "Logos Theological Journal" upgrade for $49 and just an UPGRADE to receive the 2006-2008 copies is available for $25 if you check out the Bible Archeology web site. (Apologies if this violates forum rules, not sure if this is figuring out if people are missing resources or selling something [:(]

With the Logos price for Bible and Spade Collection, version 2 being the same as the old upgrade price, I think it is a moot point anyway.
At least I don't have to hunt down an obsolete interim upgrade CD. [:)] The latest collection probably has a few corrections over the original. I'm still happy with my Ultimate Archaeology purchase. I hope they bring it back for others.
