Book of Common Prayer

It's great that we now have the BCP lectionaries (both Sunday and Daily), but how about the Book of Common Prayer itself. Either the 1928 edition or the 1979 edition, or preferably both!

I'd particularly love to have it available in Logos for when I'm planning worship. I don't go to an Anglican or Episcopal Church, but we often like to borrow prayers and liturgical elements from other traditions, and the BCP has some of the best.

Someone has put the 1979 edition online here: http://www.bcponline.org and there are various editions of it here and here.

I have PDF versions of the BCP from 1789, 1928 and 1979.  Others are also available if you search for them.  I also picked up an MS Reader version which some church had posted online.  If someone is interested in any of these, I can send them on request.  Send requests to gfsomsel the yahoo dotcom.  I agree that a Logos edition would be desirable.

EDIT:  I had intended to mention that you can get the BCP at http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bcp/index.html in various versions and from differing localities.

Yup, that was one of the links that I included in my post.

EDIT: I know it's available online. I still would like to have it in Logos to be able to search it more easily.

I feel about liturgical material the way MJ feels about lectionaries, so, yes, please, [Y]. Though the original would probably interest me personally the most. And after that the current one. In between, not so much.

If you haven't yet ordered the Liturgies Eastern and Western Collection (2 vols.), please help move it into production. Not that I know anything in particular about it, and like many Logos resources it's older than one could have wished for, but the part about "liturgies in parallel columns" sounds very nice.

I'm in on that.  I used to have an audio copy of that, but that was several computers ago.

When I wrote this, I thought there already was such a Suggestion thread, but I realized later, there wasn't. So I just added one: Siddur[s ] and other books on Jewish prayer.

    Peace, Louis!

                    *smile*                                                  Incredible!

Many thanks!                      Please pass on our thanks also to any others involved.                Great Resource at a tremendous price.

I just bid $60 U.S. dollars (57.78 Canadian dollars) and I suspect the final price will be considerably lower than that.

                                                             ....   amazed!               AND            astounded!

Is it too early to ask for Bradshaw's book on the history of the ordinary, the New Zealand BCP and the Oxford Guide to the BCP? [:P]

Are you having fun listing things just after we've asked for them? [:D] Second time in a row.

For multi-volume sets on CP I recommend ~$2/volume.

So you bid $34 American Dollars, George?

That's about 1/2 of what I bid!                              Guess we'll see!

                             Every Blessing!

Bid already placed.  Also hoping this will provoke more interest in the Thomas Cranmer Collection (10 vols.).  You might have heard me talking about it very occasionally in the forums.  [;)]
