On Features Coming Soon to Logos 4 page noticed:

Second Quarter 2011

  • Video resources
  • Personal Book Builder (Improved to use the native book format!)
  • Sermon File (To be re-designed; partially replaced by the forthcoming Personal Book Builder, supplemented by a to-be-released web site)

Lacking personal experience with Libronix 3 Sermon File Add-in, wondering what could be improved for Logos 4 ? Wish List ? (perhaps printable Handouts for congregational use)

Also wondering what was irritating ? (noted couple threads about compiling issues)

The one thing I'm really looking forward to is the Android app. I can still access my PBB's in L3, but it would be nice to have them in L4.

Overall, though, I'm well pleased with L4 as is. I'm not aware of a comparable program that matches the versatility and ability of L4.

It would be great if you could import Word docs without requiring MS Office installed on the same box. As I've moved totally off Windows as my OS, I use L3 in a minimal VM with no MS Office installed, and on my Mac, I use Mellel and Pages/iWork except on one Mac where I have Office installed... please let me import the DOC format without requiring me to buy a license for Word!

Thankful LibreOffice is free for multi-platform use that can read and write DOCX format, hoping can use for Personal Book Builder (PBB) and Sermon File implementation in Logos 4.

Unfortunately, LibreOffice does not handle Hebrew text well. It is better than MS Word, but still unacceptable. Although the words—and letters—are in correct order, the placement of vowel points and cantillation marks are offset just enough to make LibreOffice unusable for Hebrew text.

Therefore, with presently announced plans for PBB to require .docx, Mac users will be left with no way to include Hebrew text in any PBB document.
