I'd like Logos set up where I could simply select from a Bible, hit ctrl c, go to Word, hit ctrl V and walla!  text pasted in. I don't like having to go to the extra window to do a simple copy and paste.

    Hi Josh

What you describe is exactly what happens for me.

What happens when you try this?

Frequently I get the lemma of a single word.

What are you getting in Logos when you user ctrl+C and crtl+V? Here's an example of what I get using that technique

              and every tongue should confess
        that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

The Holy Bible : New Revised Standard Version, Php 2:11 (Nashville: Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1989).

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    George,

Can you provide more details of how / when this happens?

Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't.  This isn't exactly consistent.  I just attempted to paste Phil 2.11 (MJ's quotation in the previous post).  Unfortunately (for the discussion), it worked this time.  Look at the verse in the Greek.  It is as though I had attempted this and the result was

καί (a verb lemma if the first word had been a verb).

As a consequence, I end up using the Copy Bible Verses application then editing it as necessary (perhaps I want to remove the passage reference or only use part of the verse).  Sometimes I simply type it in.

it is the extra information verse that I don't want: Holy Bible, etc.

In the meantime, twhen so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, u“Beware of vthe leaven of the Pharisees, wwhich is hypocrisy. 2 xNothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in yprivate rooms shall be proclaimed on zthe housetops.

The Holy Bible : English standard version. 2001 (Lk 12:1–3). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.

This is how it came in using the copy Bible feature.

    Luke 12:1–3 (ESV)

1In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 3Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.

Was it the second that was using CBV?

If you turn off citations it should give you what you want

I appreciate that if you want citations at other times, this isn't a complete solution.

    Hope this helps

I still get the verse citation.  If you set the CBV to "Bible Text Only" you won't get the reference, but you also won't get the verse numbers.

Well, I want citations when I quote books. when I quote the Bible I only want it to have the reference and the translation.

That seems like a reasonable request, to be able to set the copy citations setting to apply differently between Bibles and other books.

In the meantime, here's a workaround: There is a Logos command line method for changing that setting (set copy citations to {yes|no}). You can drag each version of that command from the command bar dropdown menu to your shortcut bar, label them something short that will help you remember which is which, and then just click once to change back and forth between citation style for Bibles and citation style for other books:

Then right-click on the icon, edit the text, and click the checkbox to turn on the label:
