Frequently used words in a passage or book
Hi! I am looking for a way to generate a list of the most frequently used words in a passage (or even a book). For example, I'm looking for key words in the book of Philippians. I'd like to generate a list of the most frequently used words - they might be joy, or rejoice, or gospel.
What's the best way to do this?

Do a Passage Guide on the book of Philippians and look in the Interesting Words section. The size of the word will indicate relative frequency of use:
Then when you click on any of these words, it will show you a list of places where that word (or forms of it) is used:

So here's a better method:
Do a Morph Search for all possible parts of speech separated by ORs, click Analysis view, drag Result column header up to top to sort/group by that field, then right click on any section header and select Collapse all to view it all collapsed. Scroll past the uninteresting results at the beginning (I, my, and, etc.) to the more meaty words:

Thanks Rosie. How do you collapse all? I cannot seem to perform the last steps in the beta or stable version. And mine is not showing the word result.

At first I tried clicking on the column headers, but then I realized I was supposed to click on one of the actual word results in the list (for example, the word "the"). That's where you will see "Collapse All."

Rosie, I've got another question. When I open up the results for a particular word, sometimes it might say 9 occurrences, but it's really only, say, seven. I'm wondering what causes that - is it a case where two or three Greek words are translated into one English word?

It's hard to say for sure without seeing a specific example and compare it to the search terms but multiple Greek words into one English word or multiple morphological taggings on a word can cause duplications in Analysis view.

Morphological tagging example: neuter Greek words are spelled the same for nominative and accusative cases (context determines case usage) so search Analysis results that include neuter Greek words are doubled since one Greek word has two morphological tags.

In Libronix 3 it is possible to do a vocabulary list for the entire book ie Philippians 1:1 to 4:23. The vocab list will generate a list of all the greek words found in that range along with a number of how many times each word is used in the book. I am not sure what base package level is needed to have the vocab lists feature. The list generated shows the Greek lemma word form. When I copied it bellow the Greek word did not copy across.

Incidentically it was you who referred in a related discussion some six weeks ago to the Logos blog page http://blog.logos.com/archives/2007/06/free_vocab_lists.html which also includes the information that without the OL or Scholar's Libraries, one may buy the Original Languages Addin for Libronix 3.0 http://www.logos.com/product/1667/original-languages-addin. This is the way it works for me.
