Does "Search All" [Specific] Highlighting Run Any Faster Now?

Hi everyone: I'm trying to Search All highlights in a specific resource (in this case God Revelation and Authority by Carl Henry). I select [Blue Highlight] as the search field and then in the search box (Basic Search) just used a wildcard *.
The search should return perhaps 50 to 80 hits (proper names that Henry refers to). When I run this search it takes forever. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!
John

John, wildcard search (*) is really quite slow. I have never searched for highlights but I doubt this is any problem.
If you know an amount of words that would appear in the result it will take less than one second. For example if you do a search like this:
and OR the OR a OR as OR in OR at OR on OR with OR he OR she OR them OR they
If you do a search with this long query will be way faster than a wildcard search.

Using a wildcard does take a long time depending on varies factors. The only alternative I know of is approximate rather than accurate and that is to use a series of common words and hope it picks up your highlighted sections. I typically use a string like a,the, and, but, for,we,you,he,to,by,of,I,not
This type of search is much faster, but may not pick up all occurrences, especially if the highlighted section is short.

A wildcard search does tend to take "forever", but it would be useful to know the specifics of your computer and the actual time taken. Do you get the expected results?

Well, I did the search and quit after 8 to 10 minutes with it still "searching." MacBook Pro 1.8 GHz, 4 Gigs Ram.
What I REALLY want to do is - for instance - maybe highlight every favorite bible verse with a specific highlight. Then do a quick search that will return all my favorite bible verses. Is there a better way to do this?

Add them to a Passage List instead.

Yeah, I suppose that is the best way. I was hoping there was a way to do it with highlighting because it stays right IN the Bible. I could have different highlights for favorites, promises, questions, commands, stuff like that. If I start a passage list for all these different things, it soon becomes unwieldy, but if I can mark them in the text and do a quick search it just seems much more easily managed.

There's not currently functionality in Logos 4 that finds all instances of a specific highlight quickly, but it has been requested before (http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4/suggestions/542877-highlighting-view) and is on our shortlist of ideas for the future.
