New Tool for Logos 4
Not sure how many follow the Files forum, but i placed the post there since i attached files there. So i thought i would add a post in the main forum to draw attention for those who don't view the Files forum.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i have built a tool for Logos 4 which allows me to quickly position unlinked windows to the location of a linked window. Not adding fixed links to some window can be very beneficial.
(click on above image to see larger view)
A. These are various tools that i have built using Visual Basic & Logos's APIs.
(The lettered programs i will put up tomorrow if i get time to document them)
B. In unlinked windows you can use the tool (QuickLinks) to quickly navigate to the location that a linked page is at without using the Link Set in the resource's menu.
C. This is the base tool which does all the navigating and it is available now, it functions without the other programs via a right click on the notification icon. See the hyperlink to the post below.

Steve, this looks very useful. I was only stopped by the need to install .NET 4, so i posted some questions to the Files thread.

Yes that is it. I like it darker as shown in your video also, and I am not seeing a way to change the setting.

i believe you have customized your desktop app in Windows, thus why your QL window shows differently.
1. Right click on an open area of your desktop
2. In the pop-up menu click on Personalize.
3. The personalize window opens. If you click on Windows Color and Appearance, it will open the customization window.
4. There you can see which customization color scheme that you have selected. i have the default set in mine.If i were to change the color for QL's window, then others might have problems. Perhaps you might try changing your color scheme. Please try this and let me know if it helps.
Another question i have is what are you using this window in QL for? It has nothing to do with the navigation done by QL.
Edit: after seeing Praisers image, i see that i am the one who has changed the customization of my desktop. i will change the program and post an update here soon.

i made a short video of using QuickLinks with the new update which works with Tools. It is short due to NBA finals are playing in overtime. Mav's won, yea!

This required a system reboot. Is that typical? I didn't see any mention of that in the "literature". I hardly ever do a reboot...it requires me to shut down all my programs, which I rarely do.

No i haven't had to reboot on any of the installations that i have done. But that is not unheard of in windows. Windows still uses this mechanism to sort out issues when it runs into a conflict.
e.g. the app is running when you started the install, or various files are locked and the installer could not access them.
Sorry for the inconvenience. i am using Visual Basic 2010 and it provides the installer, which i have no control over. i do hope that after the reboot that QL is running OK for you!

Something new that i have found out how to do with QL is to move QL to a verse in the middle of my linked Bible. See the video below to see how this works.
