The real answer is...I don't know. The idea is that you shouldn't care....they are updated for you...taken care of for you...and you shouldn't have to give them any thought like you did in V3...
On Vista it is c:\users\yourusername\appdata\local\logos4\data\resource manager\resources

So, is it possible to copy a "resource" folder (or something similar) to a flash drive, so that I can transfer all the resources to my laptop, or do I need to download 5.6gb again? "No user serviceable parts" leads me to believe that this is not an option...
I was also wondering if it is possible to install Logos 4 on a computer that does not have an internet connection if you ordered the download of version 4. (Version 3 had an installer file that could be downloaded and put on a flash drive.)
This is not officially supported, but you should be able to do it. Copy the resources to the flash drive like you said. Start the install on the laptop, and then when it says it is DL'ing x GB you can cancel the DL by clicking on the Logos icon on the taskbar. I suppose with as long as it is taking for most new users to update today, you don't have to wait for that. Anyway, when you load of Logos 4, type "Scan (flashdrive direcectory)". Logos 4 should take care of it, but as I said at the beginning, this is not officially supported.

OK, I will learn to work within this paradigm. Since I don't have the space on my current laptop for my quickly expanding library, I will install it on my Vista machine that has two huge empty hard drives. Do I need to install version 3 to the new machine first? Will I eed to install all the third party (eBible, Fortress, F.A.C.E.) material manually again or will Logos 4 find & download it by my sychronized licenses? And will the AM Moody resource work with Logos 4? I still maintain old hardware running old software to have orphaned programs I like. Having one more runnning Version 3 would be no biggie if the licenses can still be synchronized. Will that be a problem too?
Yes Thomas this is possible.
Copy the folder.
And on the other computer, make sure that you cancel all downloads and cancel indexing.
Then, in the command bar run the command "scan e:\name-of-folder"
This will bring the resources into the other program.

Logos should install all your resources via your sychonized licenses. I guess there are a few obscure resources for which it cannot do this, but the coverage is quite good.

No you do not need 3.0 on the machine - all resources attached to your license will be downloaded and installed.
AM Moody testing features are not yet implemented.

So, (let me get this straight), I can instal Logos 4 on my Vista machine with my new package upgrade, and my old LLS and 3.0 resources. I can also maintain my laptop with 3.0f and run AM Moody on it. Simple example:
I do not own Baker Exegetical Commentary under 3.0.
If I install a 4.0 package that includes it ,will synchronizing licenses unlock BEC on the 3.0 installation if I have the 3.0 resource file in my resources folder?
If it does, I can enjoy my expanded resources library with those resources (like AM Moody) that are not yet updated for 4.0. That would be nice.
You will lose nothing. Logos policy is if you buy a book, you have bought the book. Upgrading a collection gets you new books. You keep all the old ones, even if, frankly, it doesn't make much sense. For example, I have BHS Westminster 2.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.2, which is a bit of overkill.
The only way your 3.0 setup will be influenced by installing 4.0 on a different machine is that you can DL at least some of your new 4.0 books in 3.0 format onto it if you you want from disks or the ftp site. Nothing else should change. If AM Moody works now, it should still work.
I myself have not made much of an upgrade, but new resources ARE available on my 3.0 machine as long as I find the 3.0 files. The Baker files you mention are pretty easy to find in lbxlls format.
Yes, ease of use and well written programs that let you focus on doing work instead of tech support may be a new experience for Windows users.

I still have Barclays study bible under 3.0f and its showing up in the library for 4(DSB for both old and new testament) . Since I didn't do anything but run the online installer and login when asked, I'm assuming this downloaded of the server today.

I stand corrected. I SOLD my Scholar Silver that included it and bought (not upgraded to) Scholar's Gold that did not include it.
So I really did forfeit it by not following the upgrade path. I did save over $300 doing it that way.
