Initial thoughts on PBB (4.3 B6)
Many thanks for making the PBB facility available for testing.
I successfully & easily created a book using a Docx file I had prepared for a sermon.
Looking at it I found one strange omission and a few formatting points:
The omission - any Bible references seem to be omitted!
I had a line in the document which read "Lets read Philippians 2:1-5 (1179 and
slides)"
In the created book, this became "Lets read (1179 and slides)"
All other Bible references were similarly removed.
Formatting:
- Some formatting details (such as font colour and bolding) are preserved
- Others (such as bullets and paragraph spacing) are lost

The one I just created had references, and they showed up. I wonder if references are showing up for anyone else.

Thanks Blair
Looking into this more closely (and building some small samples) it looks as though it is related to the use of Smart Tagging!
I am using Word 2007 on Windows 7 and have Logos Smart Tags enabled.
Blair, are you using Smart Tags?
If the references I use show the thin red underline (i.e. they are recognised as Smart Tags) then they don't appear in the PBB book. If they don't show the red underline then they do appear.
Hope this helps track this down.

My chapter/verse references linked correctly - I'm using Word 2003 and saving as .docx - no smart tags

With Word 2010 references show up. I am using Smart Tags, but they are different in 2010.

All bible references are neatly omitted - also use Smart Tags.

No I am not using smart tags

Beginning to look as though the use of 2003/2007 Smart Tags is the culprit here!

After I used the Smart Tag menu to stop recognising, or remove, the Smart Tag the references were compiled as expected!

I removed the smart tags from my original document in Word 2007 and the references show up after a rebuild.
- In Word Options select Add-Ins
- Select Smart Tag from the drop down list and hit Go
- Uncheck Logos Smart Tag
- Close Options Dialogue
- In the document the Smart Tags will still be there
- Find a smart tag and hover over the smart tag until the smart tag icon appears
- click the icon to see your options
- Click Remove Smart Tags
- Save the original file
- In L4 underr tools open the Personal Book Dialogue
- Select the offending PB and select edit
- Click Build
Worksed for me.

click the icon to see your options
Click Remove Smart TagsI did that for each reference in a small file without the preceding steps. However, Logos should recognise bible references irrespective of their wrapper.

Hyperlinking capabilities are lost. How do you link to another book in your library? It is highlighted in blue, but does not go to the web or the book that I linked to. In the example, the first link was to the website, and the second one to Tyndale Bible dictionary.
