Logos 4 Training Manual 1

I am new to Logos 4. I just bought my Leader's package a couple of days ago. Needless to say, I am somewhat lost. I am learning to use it but recently am boggled on how to save where I am at, my desktop for instance, so that I can pick up with my reading and studying where I left off.

Anyway, to remedy the situation I saw the training manuals that can be purchased. I am somewhat perplexed why I should have to buy the manual for the software but that is a different question. Are these manuals really useful or necessary to fully enjoy and figure out how to use the software?

The Wiki also has a wealth of useful information.

Wiki page Getting Started with Logos => Layouts section has tips and links for using Layouts, which can be named and synced between your Logos 4 installations so can pick up studying.

Welcome Stephen. I have volume 1 and 2 of the manuals, and they are pretty comprehensive, yet easy to understand. Morris, (the official trainer, and author of the manuals) is a good teacher, If the wiki and videos are not sufficient, then I strongly recommend that you go for them.

I have all the training materials that Logos has to offer
including the Morris Proctor $225vidoes. The 2 training manuals are by far the
best money I have spent.

I know the feeling Stephen! It took me about 6 months of making payments on Bible Study Library to actually start using it. I don't know the content of the manuals (though it seems they are good from what the others say), but I suppose if you learn well from reading (that's the kicker) it would probably save you a lot of the frustration many of us without a rich history of Bible study before Logos experience! If you do get the manuals, it'd be great if you throw out a first impression for the rest of us who are on the fence!

Necessary? Probably not if you want to spend time nosing around the Wiki and available videos and Fred and KS4J have pointed out.

Useful? Absolutely. The information is well organized and written in an easy to follow style. Since I just received mine yesterday, I have not had time to study them in depth, but from a quick perusal, they are quite comprehensive. As Sam West commented, they are money well spent.

All the things mentioned are great resources for learning Logos4, but if you learn well from reading, the manuals are the best! They are very easy to quickly find the information you are looking for and the actual information does not get any better. I own and use both 1 and 2!

I have that same question Stephen! But from what others have said these manuals are actually very helpful. However, for me, living in the UK, the shipping costs ($31) more than the book $29.95), which makes it out of the question.

If ONLY Logos/Morris P could offer these in digital form and half the price!! Maybe make them available in Vyrso!? [:P]
