Why not? Because in the field of language study, especially Biblical language study, we are learning more and more every day and the resources in this collection are over a hundred years old AND pre Qumran. There might be some interesting bits of information for someone doing research on the progression of our understanding of Biblical languages, but I find it hard to believe there would be much of use to me, especially for $250. I might consider it at $99, definitely not at $250.

Do you know of a more recent grammar of LXX Greek that I should be using...?
And Qumran wouldn't have any influence on Greek grammar studies at all...or Syriac...or Latin... (Gildersleeve & Bennett were required texts in at least one of my wife's Latin classes). And Smyth, if you search the B-Greek email list archives, you'll find statements from long time professors & teachers who say that if you're looking for a comprehensive grammar of NT Greek, to get out a marker or pen and write "New Testament" into the title.
And when it comes to Hebrew, I'd be surprised if you can find a contemporary Hebrew scholar who would choose to ignore Samuel Driver's work on Hebrew grammar.
It just isn't done!

Only if he goes straight to Ewald in German. You could point out which edition of Driver is going to be digitised.

I wonder if anyone had the time to consider the pre-order of this product. It contains some of the best reference grammars available. I own several of these in print but nevertheless I decided to order it. I am sure it would be very useful to every scholar and student of Greek and Syriac. It is gathering interest for so long...

Like several others, I signed up on this one quite a while back. Indeed most of my prepubs/CPs are 'stuck in the mud' so to speak. I sometimes wonder for such a large user base (a) why doing 'marginal' books is so difficult and (b) why companies 'A' and 'B' seem to be able to (not this one though). Maybe the market is not as large as it used to be (e.g. when the works were originally produced; not just typed in and proofread/linked).

I am sorry for bumping this again but it has been three months. It has since turned orange (Almost There!). It is a great resource for all those interested in the LXX and in Syriac (Best Grammars of the LXX and Syriac. Excellent Latin Grammar Nice Syriac lexicon). If anyone is interested please help us move this to production. Did I mention how sorry I am for bumping this again? [:)]
