Not inherently.
There are some tools that can do some simple conversions between text or printed documents to file types compatible with many book readers (mobi, ePub, or PDF). Takes some work and cannot legally be shared with with others (i.e. for personal use only).
Many of the public domain books can found on the net in format that can be converted to these same formats with less work.
Thanks Floyd. I am looking at getting the new NOOK so I can read my L4 books without lugging my PC around. You mention "not inherently" and "there are some tools", which makes me hesitate. can you expound? or where I can find more about this before I invest in an ereader?

You need to save a part of a logos resource as a word doc or pdf that the mobipocket creator can use, then created the epub file for your nook from mobipocket.

Sadly, the MobiPocketCreator only creates books in the mobi format - which is what is used by the Kindle. The Nook uses the ePub format. You can do a Google search for text to ePub to find good tools that can create books for the Nook. I even saw one (have not used it) that was totally on-line, i.e. no need to install it on a local machine. Similarly, other tools to convert books to the mobi format can be found by searching Google for text to mobi.

Logos recently released Vyrso for iOS and will be coming out with an Android app soon. It's a lot like the Logos Bible app except they don't have some of the study tool (passage guide, e.c.t). They designed it be more like an ereader mainly for books people would read cover to cover and not necessarily for reference work. The advantage is that books purchased for Vyrso will also work with Logos and you can read you Logos library on Vryso. It's still being developed but should be released soon. I believe you options will be an iOS or Android version of the app so you should be able to use an iPad or Android tablet.

You could try Calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com/). It supports conversion between several formats. I've only used it with a Kindle but it supports epub and several other input and output formats. If you use proper styles in work and generate a table of contents it will create an ebook with a working table of contents.

I have read in the forum that I won't be able to copy or transfer whole books to an ereader from my L4, but only a chapter. I am wanting to make sure I invest wisely in a device and not get stuck with a something that works partially or in some instances, and therefore frustrated.
Have you or anyone else in the forum had success with the Nook?

You can transfer whole books - you just have to transfer them to a Word file one chapter at a time. Once the entire book is transfered, you can create a larger ePub or mobi document that can be read on the Nook or Kindle, respectively.

Now I have to deal with THAT temptation thang with going all the way and just getting a IPad2 or a Galaxy w/ Android OR just sticking with my original goal and intent. Choices. Since reading all the postings about both, a tablet or Ereader, a table to have access to more of my L4 sounds nice. Making notations and notes beyond just reading sounds like something to help with time management. Being a bi-vocational pastor, Time Mgmt is the name of the game. Squeezing every minute out of a day is a way of life.

I've heard of people rooting their Nooks to use as a fully-functional Android tablet. Of course, rooting requires some technical skill and you'll have to wait until L4Android comes out.
You can actually transfer them up to 100 pages at a time. I copy them on to the clipboard, paste them into Word, A6 page size. Then adjust all the text to Arial 12. And save as PDF. That reads nicely on Kindle.
Incidentally, I have discovered I can copy pdf files as text to Word, then format as above. It's not brilliant, and sometimes has to be in smaller print to avoid lines running over 2 words or so into the next line, as I can't find a way to apply word wrap. And headers and footers appear amid the text. But, with those limitations, it's readable, as good as the Amazon formatting often is, and doesn't have to be sent to Amazon and then downloaded.
Though I have been a part of this discussion, I do see that an important thought is missing - the issue of copyright. I don't know the law about making copies for my personal use - it may even be cloudy. But I know that making copies to share is a violation of copyright.
I do appreciate the ability to make copies (as discussed here); just be aware that these copies, at best, can be used for personal use only.
if you turn the font size of a resource down to the lowest, Hit print, and then change the page size to tabloid you can fit far more into those 100 pages. When they are sent to Word it will have a normal page size and font size. Many entire books can be exported in 1 sitting using this method.
I would join the previous poster in emphasizing that any exporting of books should be for personal use only. Come to think of it I can understand why PBB will have to go through a Logos "marketplace." With supporting nearly identical functionality in PBB as the real book someone could simply export a book using the method above and make a PBB, then give it to others so they don't have to buy the resource themselves. That puts me 100% behind the marketplace concept.
You have to do some conversions then everything is gonna be okay. i don't know really know the conversion software so i will take some information bout it then i will tell you.
