Logos 5 Ideas...

I Suggest.

In the next Version of Logos. Logos 5 ...

That there be a "Learning Section" of the Software (to put learning resources in e.g. Foreign Languages, Logos Learning Study Aids, ect...), along with media capability (within the software).This is where one can actually Learn Logos. This could be part of a Package like Scholars Library. Could go much deeper on this one...

Also,an actual "Study" section like we have now with Logos4.

The ability to open the "Logos Store" from with Logos (in another section), where we can purchase, set up payment plans, access our accounts, talk with accounting about our accounts, and or resolve issues (maybe through direct intervention), with Logos Technical Support.

And a huge media section, Topping that of Glo...To be left to Logos' Creativity ... :-)

Starting from the Homepage you can go to 1 of 4 or more "Sections" or Parts of the Program seperately. Kind of like 4 Logos' in One. Each carrying it's own weight in Logos Education, Media, Study (Like the Perfection of what we have now , and Growth (Logos Store, Accounting, Tech Support - All in One section, or "Side" of the Program). These sections will dominate the screen once selected giving the user full access to a world all its own (not expanding beyond reason or resources of course - Logos can figure this out

I'm sure Logos can come up with more or better Section ideas, this is just a start.

As you describe it, the word you wanted was "separate", not "seperate." You should understand what you are talking about before you try to make a recommendation. You are right about one matter -- I'm sure Logos HAS come up with a better idea.

Correcting people's spelling in online forums is generally a newbie thing to do. One would have thought you've been around the block long enough to know it's just not good form. It annoys people and isn't really helpful.

No. I am saying that correction, when appropriate, should be done in love. Berating someone doesn't benefit anyone.

I'm not sure if this is what Douglas is talking about, but Microsoft used to include tutorials in its software that took users through a battery of "role plays" that stepped them through the program capabilities. I personally like the idea...but I think there are some caveats to consider. The biggest one is that Logos seems to be utilized differently by almost every person who uses it. I have seen screen shots that look nothing at all how I have set up the program. That is good in a way, because it speaks to the versatility of the program. But it also shines light on the fact that there are many folks (and as far as L4 goes, I include myself among them) who simply aren't getting as much use out of the program as they could. For myself, a big part of the problem is that I still use L3 about 95+% of the time. That isn't going to change because I require Notes ability that L4 doesn't possess, and so I simply don't use the program enough to learn all the ins-and-outs & bells-and-whistles that L4 has. If there was some sort of tutorial, I could learn some of these abilities while going through it.

As we established in an earlier post, Bob is a Microsoft guy [;)], so this idea should be something he's familiar with.

Yes, in a way

If logos were a cube, Logos Learning would be a "Side". When selected you are taken into a Logos called "Learning Logos". In this "Program" if you will (a part of Logos as a whole), there could be Live walk through turtorials as you mention (point and click maybe), all Logos related Learning Videos could be played by a Logos Player within it (including Foreign Language Learning Videos and tutorials to learn about what you are going to be studying in the Logos Study Side), and there could even be real time Quiz's given by the software where it asks you to perform certain tasks (from beginner to Expert), and if you click wrong in a process it shows you where and what you did wrong and gives you another try . This would be great for every Beginner. Logos could be really creative with this idea, and with the wide spectrum of users in this forum, the sky is the limits.

What we have now, and call Logos (study), could be another side.

Then, my Favorite (I Love my Kids would be the Media section. I will say "Glo" and Logos and this Forum can do the rest

Another Side could be where we access the Logos Webpage.

Again just one guy. I'm sure you guys could come up with alot more. This is just a starting place for Creativity both in user Appeal (new users) and fun.

From what I understand about the mind and how we think, it is more of a visual learning that takes place in any occasion (we think in pictures - see also L4 vs.L3 . This is why people are so attracted to 3D both in Movie and Software. So to Visually take someone to all the aspects of the software. I think it would both teach and aid all both small and great in the Exploration of the both the Bible and the Software.
