Hi Everyone! Which resource is the most usable during your Bible study?
Can I suggest you look at Mark Barnes' video on prioritization? It might give you some ideas on what to favor and why.
For me:
1. Bible: ESV (in English), USB Gk NT (Interlinear), Lexham Heb-Eng interlinear
2. Bible Commentary: For starters in NT: Bible Speaks Today and Tom Wright's For Everyone series. or more serious study, NIGNT, Baker Exegetical, UBS handbooks WBC, Socio-Rhetorical, Pillar.
3. Bible Dictionary: International Standard Bible Encyclopedia
4. Greek and (or) Hebrew Dictionary: a bit complex to describe: see Mark's video.
1. ESV, NASB (I know some frown on inter-linears, but for me ...)
2. Word Biblical Commentary, (when I can get it - NICOT and NICNT) for now: NAC, UBS (Also: Readers / FOTL)
3. The IVP Dictionary Collection is GREAT; NIDNTT, AYB (and ISBE - revised version)
4. Greek: Wallace and Intermediate Greek N.T. by Young / BHRG and LBH (Rocine) [I HAVE to mention that Louw-Nida is VERY useful to me - learn your way around this and it will really pay off]
[I have found it helpful working with the VIsual (sentence and clause) Analyses for Hebrew and Greek ie: Lexham, Cascadia, Open-text, A-F]
Thanks guys[Y]! It helps me to see which sources are very practical for Bible study. Any other suggestions?
