ESV Downloadable?
I use the ESV as my main Bible, and know that Logos uses it in a lot of resources too, but in the Android Beta, I don't show it as a book I can download. Is this the case, and if so, will it be something that will be available for download. I'd like my main Bible to be on my Droid for offline access if at all possible, so I can remove other Bible apps. Thanks!

This is interesting. It would seem to me that if a book is downloadable, it would be across all of the different devices. I can download other books, but don't have a download button on the ESV. Is there any official word from a Logos Android developer why a book would be downloadable on one smartphone or device, but not on another.
For the record, I'm using an original Motorola Droid running 2.2.2
Thanks!

Hey All,
It took a few attempts to get the ESV on my Droid X.
My issue is that I can't download the ESV Study Bible.
My config: Droid X, Android 2.2.1, SD=32GB, (Verizon)

The mystery deepens! I was able to download the ESV Study Bible, as well as the Lutheran Study Bible, both of which use the ESB as the base text, but still have no button to download the ESV. Thus my pondering the resources that are downloadable or not. It doesn't seem like the device would make a difference, and so long as it's a downloadable resource, it shouldn't make a difference if it's in your library. So why can I get the ESV study Bible, but Melvin can't and Graham can get the ESV, but I can't? Hmmm. I'm pondering the possibilities!

If there was a problem updating your library after you signed in, e.g. the device ran out of memory or the network connection dropped, I would expect to see issues like this. You should be able to correct it by clearing the app data and signing in again. If you do that, you will need to redownload any books you had previously downloaded.

Just to make sure I'm not doing the wrong thing in clearing the app data, do I need to go to the settings in the phone settings and then clear data there, or is there something in the Logos app itself where I do this? Thanks Dave

Right, in the Android "Settings" app.

Dave,
Thanks for the info... that made the difference. Now I have ESV showing up and have downloaded it!

Dave,
1. I tried this and still could not access the ESV.
2. Then I just did a complete uninstall/reinstall
3. Now no ESV books appear in a my library search panel.
4. My library filter on 'ESV' displays: 'No Resources' in the results section

Melvin, it sounds like you do not have an Internet connection or there is some problem with it. Does the library view say "Library (Offline)"?

Dave,
I did another reinstall and they now appear. Sorry for the false alarm on that, however, the ESVSB still fails to download.
The basic ESV has installed with no problem.
Thanks,

the ESVSB still fails to download.
It's a very large resource (~220MB). Downloading with a spotty network connection will be difficult.

Success (just ESV, trying ESVSB now), and it downloaded quickly too (on my WiFi connection), once I figured it out. aka where exactly the download button is suppose to be and what the little green icon, on a resource means, in the Library view.

HTC Incredible (Version 1) running 2.2Froyo, no download issues over wi-fi, ESV study bible does open to 1st kings 5 for some reason. You have to tap the top of page to get the search window to pop up which allows you to type in a different verse and you can also jump to other books. I'm very glad to have this now, and looking forward to updates! I also had no problems downloading both ESV or ESVSB to my phone! Awesome!!

Hi Sam - and welcome to the forums
I'm having the same issue. Even though I purchased the ewv I can't download it. There is simply no download button.
The particular issue discussed in this thread related to the version of Android software used around 18 months ago.
However, there was a more recent issue which resulted in no download button being visible for some resources. This was thought to have been fixed in version 2.2.7 of the app (see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/60905.aspx for a discussion)
What version of the app are you using?
If you are running 2.2.7 and still seeing this problem I suggest you start a new thread
Hope this helps
Graham
