Move to SD Card Question
My android device (LG Optimus V) has VERY little internal memory so I was extremely pleased to see that Move To SD was supported. Prior to installing Logos, I had about ~16MB free. Immediately after installing Logos, Android started griping about running low on memory. So I moved the app to the SD card. It originally reported that there was 13MB to move, but in fact, about 7MB was moved. Which is correct? Also, even after the move to SD, Android continually whined that it was low on internal memory so I'm thinking something stayed in internal memory even though the memory usage appeared similar to me. Had to uninstall it for now until I can figure this one out. Is it possible that something isn't being moved and is still taking up storage space?

Bump...any ideas on this one?

Android's "Move to SD card" doesn't actually move all of the application and its data to the SD card.

Thanks Dave. How much is left over after the move completes? I need to figure out how much space I need to free up.
Also, any possibility of reducing the amount that's left over in internal memory?

It really depends on the size of your library. For a library with Scholar's Gold, it's about 4MB left on the internal storage. We'll look into using the SD storage instead.

Thanks. Given how little internal memory lots of android phones ship with, I don't think I'm the only one in this state [:(] so anything you can do would be appreciated.

A nice little free app is "DiskUsage" -- shows nicely, visually and in detail where your space went, including whether to apps, data, or cache...

Thanks Pete. DiskUsage is great! Now if it could just help me unload the manufacturer bloatware without rooting I'd be even happier.

By using the DiskUsage app, I've freed up a lot of memory and unloaded a lot of apps, still can't get Logos to run on my phone...just not enough internal memory (looks like it requires at least 7MB). [:(]

The best thing you can do is to root it, make a partition on your SD Card to extend the internal memory. You can start here.

Pete, Thanks for the suggestion on DiskUsage. I'm installing that on two devices right now. I don't have a problem with Logos because I've previously removed many programs and moved others; but this should make the job a bit easier!

Dave please try to utilize the SD card as much as possible.
