Some posters have unusual nicknames. Alabama24 comes from 2 sources: 1) I am an Alabama Crimson Tide Fan (Roll Tide) and 2) Alabama was taken as an email address many years ago so I added 24 to the end. I have used it ever since.
FWIW - I am sitting on the couch waiting for my wife to get home. We are about to take our two boys (5 & 2) on a 12 hour drive to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The best part (?) is you all get to see what my desk looks like in real life. I did not pause to clean it off beforehand.
Good grief, are those books in your Logos web shot??? You have b-b-b-books??? Shocking. Demote this man immediately.

And I'm not afraid to use them either!
Originally I kept them in case of power failure (I do live in the country you know) then I bought an 8KW generator this spring so I keep them around to catch the falling dust.
Just be grateful you can't see my other wall to wall book case. [6]

Remember going to Grandpa's house and sitting on the phone book so you could eat at the big table?
My little kids use theology books to reach things they are too short for. They just pull them off the shelf and stack them.

So, the current record for longest thread ever in the Logos forums stands at 624 posts.
But the Meet & Greet is overtaking...
I'm quite certain that in the time I needed to take a screen capture with the Jing tool (which provides for texts & boxes, other than my prior Win7-built in Snipping Tool) and write this post, the number again climbed up...

Stephen foresaw the propensity of the "regulars" posting too many responses in the "Meet & Greet" thread.
Here are two examples from guys that should know better:

So the blog post said there was an easter egg for forum week? I went through part of the site's source code but didn't really come back with anything. Anyone else searching for this elusive beast?

Yeah, I started a thread about this. Can't figure out where/what they could hide in the Forums. I figure it must be somewhere in the 'Forum Week' Forum, but can't find anything...

Hi yourself.
Be very careful how you shout that out at O'Hare. [8-|]

What are you saying hi to Jack for? He hasn't posted in this thread yet.
Been a bit under the weather today with a sinus infection. Then, I took the cough medicine and went to sleep. BUt I have answered Tom. I should have thanked him for his concern that I might be left out. [^o)]

Oh, by the way. We are still fostering the little boy. He's adorable, but I think we may have to give him up in September. If that happens, my post count will probably outstrip Thomas's within a week.
Still praying that God will bring about what is in the best interest of all concerned.
I cannot be off-topic or smart-alecky on such an important subject, but I have faith that you will provide another opportunity [8-|]

What happened to all you slackers? I just looked and have 4 5 6 7 posts in a row at the end, and I am in a cough-medicine induced stupor. Someone may say, "So that is why you posts have been making more sense than usual." There, Robert, beat you to that [:D]

OOOOH OOOH me me me! I have an Idea Philip. It's one of several actually, but it only vaguely correlates to some other ideas I've had. That makes this one unique - in a tangential sort of way.Philip Spitzer said:Anybody else have an idea they don't want to mention?
Speaking of Tangerines. I like them.
That is so cool! Maybe if we put both of our thoughts together we'll have two thoughts. Think it will work.
Perhaps if you rub them together—and get assistance from a Cob Scout—you can start a fire. [8-|]

Have you tried telling your wife that she has a neck like the tower of David, hung with the shields of mighty men? Oh never mind, she has lived with you for 30 years. She is tough; she can take it. [8-|]

My eldest son has memorized many scripture passages and some whole books. He takes unusual glee at quoting the Song of Solomon.........
His sisters used to keep him in line but now that he is married I think he quotes the whole book. [*-)]

Off-topic. (But that makes it on-topic):
I am not promoting nor denying the assertions in this article but I find it fascinating reading:
Jeremiah, Ireland, and the Dynasty of King David
There were 20 castles around Dowd Town. One was reputedly built upon the ruins of a castle King David of Israel built. [:D] Last year that castle was for sale. I doubt it was this one but they all look the same to me:
Can you imagine the shields hanging on these walls?
addendum: I found a nifty devotional on the matter here:

deleted duplicate post : Some certain "Nina", who shall remain nameless, knocked the wireless router off the shelf and caused the post to hang up in the buffer. Of course, I had to go and re-post.

Wonder if eldest son has any pearls of wisdom for Jack (and possibly Brian):

You know, I think the trouble is that, well, I once heard that when the Australians, or was it the Austrians (I always get those mixed up) -- anyway, before the invention of the thing with the circle and the holes, you know, that guy who always did the stuff and then got a patent for it -- when that one man was president; you know the one I mean; have you ever thought that it was all just a bit ahead of his time, but it couldn't be the aliens, or could it; there were some sightings over Mexico City, not that he was ever near Mexico City, like Cortez, though it was much smaller then, and not nearly as polluted, you know about the ozone problem in the Antarctic right (and how did the ancient people ever figure out that coast line anyway?), what was that problem with the UV rays, or microwave ovens (I always get those mixed up), which is why the ocean currents have made a big trash problem right in the middle, which is hurting the sea birds, who are eating too many sea turtles, because there just aren't as many of them as their used to be, thanks to the oil spill in Alaska, which is always too cold, except when it's warmer than here, and that's what I think.
What's your opinion?
And um, have you seen my ritalin?
