For those of you who have installed mFav and have multiple computers with L4 installed, see this help article on how to have mFav work on each of these computers and have the same tabs/list of resources.

Steve the "myfav" is an excellent tool and can be
used in many different  ways but, what I would like to really brag on and tell you how much I appreciate
it, is the "quick link" It really speed up my studying and makes it
more intesting and it works perfectly every time.

P.S. i added the double-click ability to mFavs. See the main webpage for updated details. The install page has the latest version of mFav. When i update the program i add it to the Install page and show the update info on the main page.

Fixed a major annoyance which i just discovered with mFav. i found that when opening mFav window and before clicking on a tab button, that the scrollbar for the list was not visible (even when there were more books than would fit in the window).

This is fixed now and if you visit the Installation page you can update mFav with the newer version. Just follow the instruction.

Added a right click menu to items in your tab lists.

    image

Open opens your selected book in L4 (same as pressing the Open Book button

Copy to tab copies your book info to another tab (when hovering on this another pop-up menu appears with a list of all your tabs). Copying to the same tab name just appends another copy to your current tab. Copying to another tab retains your book in the current tab and appends a copy in the tab you selected.

Move to tab copies your current selected book to the selected tab and removes it from your current tab.

Cut works the same as Cut button in the Edit panel. This is a 2 step process. First you cut the selected book. Then you select a book in your current tab where you want your book to be place and right click on it, now in the right click menu you will see Paste, click on paste and your cut book is repositioned in your current list at the new place where you clicked on paste.

Delete performs the same function as clicking on Remove Book button. It deletes the currently selected book from your current tab's list.

Also added in this update, mFav will remember it window position the next time you open mFav.

Also mFav will remember the last tab you had open when you closed mFav and it will be the active tab when you reopen mFav.

The new installation file is located here (see step #3, its the zip file). If you extract the installation file to a different folder than you originally installed it, windows will give you an error message. You will need to use the Control Panel to uninstall mFav. Then you can then run the installation program to install mFav.

In working with a friend's computer over a remote connection, i found that i can copy Exported tabfile from my computer to his and then open it on his computer. Warning: please make sure to Export your tabfile to your computer before Importing, so you don't loose your current mFav tab layout!

You can try importing my tabfile below to see how i have used mFav to arrange my books. You will find that you may not have some of my books in your library and L4 will show you a panel telling you that you do not own this resource (when you tell mFav to open that book), so don't be alarmed.

    a. These tabs are my current studies. Each study has books which i find useful for that study, but don't want open all the time in a layout.

    b. These tabs are my main books that i use for each of these categories.

    c. These tabs are quick lists of books for each of these categories which i frequently want to find & open.

    Hi Jane,

Sorry that you are having this problem. Another user had the same problem here.

This is window trying to prevent hacking of an installed app (my best guess). If you run Programs and Features from the Control Panel of windows, you can uninstall the current mFav application (first make sure that mFav is not running). Then after it is uninstalled you can run the new installation program for mFav and it will work.

To avoid this problem in the future, you will need to remember exactly which folder that you unzipped the new installation files into. Then the next time you update, remove all the old installation files from that folder before unzipping the new installation files. Sorry for all this trouble, but i am stuck with this solution as VB creates the installation files and i have no control over many aspects of how it works.

Good news to Logos users, the new feature Personal Book (PB) tool obsoletes the program that i built (mFavs). Now you can easily create categories & lists of your favorite books in a PB. If you add hyperlinks to your book titles then in your PB you can just click on the book that you want Logos4 to open.

So in Word create your categories and lists of book with hyperlinks

Then use the Personal Book tool to create your PB, you can even place your PB on the Logos4 shortcut bar to quickly open it.
