We're not doing both at the same time, are we Stephen?
That was my 1st guess: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/34712/261082.aspx#261082

I think we are "right on target"
But how is that

I was just joking with the other Richard. I had not read his earlier post, which would have eliminated that as a possibility for me. It is kind of funny that Stephen lists running and target practice... Even though I understood when Richard wrote that it must be wrong - I could not pass up the pun. So shoot me. [;)]

This is a "Forum Week" is a hidden forum, so although our post counts go up if you click on anyone who posts here (including yourself) you will not see their posts. I did my own to try to get back to a post from the previous day...and it wasn't there!

Yes it does, but Richard Wardman posted that immediately and Stephen posted again right after him http://community.logos.com/forums/p/34673/260715.aspx#260715 and that post was outside "Forum Week"

Yes, Todd, the fact that I left #5 out was a hint...because the easter egg is in one of my posts. I keyed in on that fact that people are looking all over the place, from source code, to employee rosters, to the product checkout process at logos.com!
And therefore, "focus!" As in, "this is for forum week. look in forum week. and what's more, look in my posts."
I'm not that cryptic. But I really can't give any more hints.
Stephen, I think I found it. It's in your Round 2 post. You said this (note the word OUT and FOCUS):
"*Personal note: If you haven't seen the video about the High Definition New Testament, you definitely should check it out!
I personally think a resource like this is incredibly helpful in
understanding the New Testament writers' flow of thought and intentions
for writing. Can there be anything more worthwhile in studying the Word
than trying to understand the inspired authors' intent? Few resources
focus on the discourse grammar level of Bible study, and only one (that
I've seen) makes it so accessible/understandable for the average person.

It's worth noting what Stephen said earlier in this thread...
Stephen Smith said:No hidden meaning. No hidden message. Just an in-joke that people familiar with the forums should be able spot as incongruous and then discover what it really is/means.
I don't think we're looking for the word 'focus' or anything related. It sounds like something that stands out as being odd and something that regular 'Forumites' would spot.
But where to start!? There's no way of tracking all his posts!

All right I think I have it. It was like I couldn't see the forest for the trees.Forum guidelines state:
- Please keep your discussions focused on Logos Bible Software: our software, products, websites, company, tools, etc.
Then Steven starts a thread called "Off Topic".... how does that relate to LOGOS??? It is definitely outside the guidelines!!
Fits:
Stephen Smith said:No hidden meaning. No hidden message. Just an in-joke that people familiar with the forums should be able spot as incongruous and then discover what it really is/means.
Hiding in plain view.
So the Easter egg is Stephen Post http://community.logos.com/forums/p/34644/259897.aspx#259897 where he says
"So, here's the plan: post anything you want right in this thread....it doesn't matter how off-topic or, for the benefit of certain unnamed pup...er...people, useless the comment is."
Hopefully I can win again...since this isn't the Hide n Seek thread and there are no rules posted for winning this one[:D]

I sure hope not, since I actually started writing a "funny" post just after he posted that, quoting him the Guidelines and so on, but then I deleted it instead of posting it, figuring it wasn't funny at all, just stupid. He's a Logos employee; he's got the right to "break" the Guidelines.
And if it's that kind of incongruous we're looking for, I've got something worse: he forbade us to reveal the details of the hidden sale, and then he himself revealed that it included a wildcard. How's that for breaking rules?! I actually remarked on it a day or two ago. But I doubt it's either of these.

Yep, me too...that was before he made it known there was an "Easter egg" and he expected us to find it! I actually waited a while before posting it.
As for his leaking the "wildcard" he has the right to do that ... and I'm pretty sure he did it as a teaser to get more folks to post to the Meet & Greet thread...smart marketing teaser I might add.
I'm glad he created the "Off Topic" thread that allows us to "legally" have fun ignoring the guidelines....[:D]

If that were it, then I don't think it fits his description: "hid an as-of-yet-undiscovered Easter egg". -- The post wasn't hidden, and everyone discovered it. (Can it be an "easter egg" if it doesn't fit the definition of easter egg?)
I'm enjoying seeing the efforts put out here, but I'm eager to see what Stephen has to say.

.....sorry! Not it.....
hindsight's 20/20, but I wonder if maybe I shouldn't have hinted at its existence so as to save you all from the angst of not finding it....I was just surprised nobody had found it yet (see how easy it was to find Todd's easter egg for comparison)

Two things to note that are out of place:Stephen Smith said:Matthew C Jones said:Where, oh where, can it be?
- I checked the "Unread" threads. Nothing.
- I checked the "Unanswered" threads. Nothing.
- I checked the Logos employee roster (A bunch of them need to get avatars!)
- I added an item to my checkout and deleted because, Nope, you guessed it. No egg there.
I think they have yet to load the Easter egg. (It hasn't yet been found because it hasn't yet been laid.)

The missing 'quote' in Matthew C. Jones' comment on the post is point no. 5, is someone else quoting a previous post allowed to edit it in a response?
and,
Joseph Mazzanti's 'quote' from his post earlier in this thread has been re-worded? Are you allowed to do this? This quote seems to be out of place.
Being a newbee to forums, that is about as far as I can go to figuring all this out. [:'(]

Yes, people can choose what part of the post they want to highlight/quote, but since the original/actual post is still there, it's easy to compare and see if anything relevant or important was left out.
In this particular case, it was noteworthy that I had left part out.
George Gates said:Joseph Mazzanti's 'quote' from his post earlier in this thread has been re-worded? Are you allowed to do this? This quote seems to be out of place.
Good catch. In this situation, though, I simply pulled a comment Joseph made in another thread over into this one since it was relevant to the conversation. That was a true and complete quote of his, though.

Always funny when people change to something that makes some old post completely incomprehensible. Happened to come across an old post by MJ some days ago, which also looked rather strange if you didn't know she's changed her avatar in between.

I just had a horrible thought - what if the Easter Egg that Stephen thought he had set up was not available to the rest of us? Earlier (was it in this thread) there was a link that appeared differently to him than it did to us.
It would explain why some of the brightest minds on the forums cannot find the Easter Egg.

We made those posts "sticky" so they wouldn't get buried so far down the list that people just finding out about Forum Week would miss the important threads related to Forum Week.
The forum software doesn't allow us to determine in what order the stick post appear, but only allows us to make sure they stay at the top.
