I use splashtop which is a cheap but very effective remote access tool. For about $2.99 i can access my laptop and use the full features of Logos. This allows me to do reading and highlighting. It works really well for me.

Did you get the regular PocketInformant or the HD? How is this better than using Microsoft's Outlook? Thanks.

- iAnnotate PDF (allows for marking up notes in PDF form. I use for teaching classes.)
- Drop Box
- Slideshow Remote (I control PPT slideshows and can easily see the PPT notes. Thus I take my iPad2 to the stage when preaching).
- MyPad+ (Facebook app)
- Vyrso (I have Kindle app, but this is going to be my reading app of choice for Christian books!)

Must admit, I've been looking at the HD version of PI but been hesitant to stump up the dosh for it, despite using PI on my iPhone all the time. Just seems to grate having to find another £8 for the iPad version when I already have bought the iPhone version. But I would like it. I'm hoping there will be a discount when v2 is announced (futile, I know, but I just can't bite the bullet with this one yet.)0 -
I used a bunch of apps already mentioned but one i didn't see mentioned that I love is Flipboard. Awesome app that allows you to follow RSS feeds and it makes it look like a magazine. I follow a number of blogs (including logos) on my flipboard (I used to use Pulse but this is a million times nicer on the Ipad)

Had an iPod Touch for 2 years. God a refurbished iPad 1 this week. Most valuable apps:
- OliveTree Bible
- Laridian Bible
- PocketInformant Calendar
- Kindle (Ignatius Study Bible)
- Engadget
- Documents to Go (mainly theological articles)
Actually, I only have the free iPod Touch / Ipad version of Logos. Still deciding if I need what it offers.
I will be posting some "newbie questions" soon. Grateful if when it goes up any of you can spare the time to answer. I will start a different thread.
God Bless,
Richard.

The ones I use the most (where do I start[:#]):
1. MacJournal - journaling app and works great for note taking
2. Goodreader - reads almost all formats (pdf, pages, keynote, numbers (and there MS counterparts) Also allows you to mark up and save the pdf's with annotations. Has a good file management capability and sync's with Dropbox and Mobile me)
3. Dropbox - of course
4. Flipbook
5. Pageonce Pro Money and Bills (& trip tracker for travel) - Tracks all my bank/credit card/utility/travel (frequent flyer/rental car/hotel) accounts and sends notices when bills are due.
6. Flipbook - awesome!!!
7. Bento - basic database with easy ti use templates and syncs with Bento on Mac, sorry no windows version
8. Navigon - GPS software same app for iPad and iPhone, with turn by turn directions
9. Instapaper - lets you save links to articles to read later
10. Mindnode - mind mapping software, if you use Mindmanager Mindjet just released a iPad version.
11. Epicurious - cookbook
12. Weber's On the Grill - Recipe and grilling instructions
13. Pages/Keynote/Numbers (naturally)

PaperDesk - for note taking while using Logos
How does this compare to Evernote? Any idea?
For me it is simpler. Cut and paste from Logos to PaperDesk works great. I can type, draw, write notes with a stylus (or my finger) in PaperDesk. I can save notebooks or email them to my laptop, or dropbox them. I can record thoughts and attach them.
Evernote may do all this equally well. PaperDesk seems to me my needs.
However, I would be interested in what Evernote can do.

Thank you, everyone! I shall consult this thread when I next go online!
I use Dropbox, Freebooks, Prayer Partner, PDF Notes.
I have Skype and Kindle, but hardly use them at the moment.
Next time I go online, I shall get Vyrson to read 3 Vyrso books I got on the iPad. Do you know, Bonhoeffer at Amazon UK is tgwice the price of the same book at Amazon US, but Amazon US wouldn't sell it to me - so Logos/Vyrso got my trade!

You can also use an app called "forums" to reply in the Logos forums from the iPad.
