I turn about two pages and then it freezes and sometimes a complete restart of the iPad is necessary. I end up being more focused on getting the app working than I am on my study. If the application is distracting from my actual Bible study then it is just not fit for purpose in my opinion. It is a shame as one of the main reasons for my purchasing the iPad was to use logos. And yes, Vyrso is the same because it is essentially the same app.

Does the app crash with both online books and offline books? Have you downloaded many books, or just a few?

I tend to use online books as I need to access several resources unless I just want to read a monograph. Downloading multiple resources onto the iPad would be very slow, besides using up much of my over priced Kenyan data allowance and filling the limited iPad storage. It would be great if I could transfer resources via USB like I can with my kindle.
The annoying part is that when it crashes and I restart, it re-opens a few pages behind where it froze. This means it often freezes again in exactly the same place as before, requiring yet another re-start before I can progress. I have taken to using Biblia as this seems to load better, although a working app would be prefferable.
It would be helpful if you could provide crash reports. Thanks.
Sometimes shutting down the iPad would clear app freezes and crashes. You can do this by pressing the Power button and the Home button simultaneously for a few seconds until the red shutdown slider appears.
Just the POWER button is fine. It will show a red powerdown slider after about 3-4 seconds. Slide to do a full power down, or cancel if you change your mind.
Some combinations of BOTH Power and Home, if held for too long*, will transfer your iPhone or iPad into a bootload reset, and in effect you lose everything and need to do a total restore from a backup in iTunes etc.
I have generally NOT had issues with the Logos app crashing or messing up. For the most-part, it seems to work quite well for those features it has. However, for some other apps, they can get messed up and a full power-down and restart of the iPad can be useful.
Regards,
Jim
P.S. * The "too long" is some 10-15 seconds or something. In general, you wont trigger it by accident.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the advice but as you can see from my earlier posts, I have restarted the iPad several times.

Do you have both the latest versions of iOS and the Logos App? Also, is your iPad jailbroken? Your experience seems to be the exception. Sorry for your troubles!

Currently, iOS has to be updated by being directly connected to a computer with iTunes. The next version (iOS 5), is supposed to allow "wireless" updates. NOTE: I am referring to updating of the OS, not of Apps, which can be updated "wirelessly" now.
