Installing Old CD Resources in PC format into Logos 4 Mac

Hello,

I am new to Logos and recently purchased it for my Mac. I downloaded almost all of my software from online, which was great! However, I also ordered the "Collegeville Catholic Reference Library" and a CD was mailed to me. I am unable to load the items into Logos for Mac- the CD is in PC format! Is there a way I can transfer or convert the files into Mac format?

Welcome to Logos forum, Sherry!

You're best bet is on Monday call Customer Support at Logos. They'll ask for the CD code and then authorize it for you Logos4. If you were on a PC, you could install the older Libronix, load the CD, upload the license and wait a few minutes for it to 'crossover' to Logos4. But that would be a real pain.

Hope you like the Collegeville CD. For almost 2 years I keep searching for an older Collegeville CD that has the Jerome Commentary. I think my quest will always be in vain. Jerome was (and is) a classic.

Good advice, but you will probably have to wait until Tuesday as Monday is a holiday in the US. I have followed this procedure a couple of times and it works flawlessly.

Since new to Logos, suggest reading Wiki page => Getting Started with Logos that includes links to excellent unofficial Logos training plus tips and links to many Wiki pages.

If you were on a PC, you could install the older Libronix, load the CD, upload the license and wait a few minutes for it to 'crossover' to Logos4. But that would be a real pain.

Wiki Logos 4 Mac => Need Logos 4 PC feature? section includes virtualization and native boot options (needs appropriate Windows license). Libronix 3 in Windows can read older Personal Book Builder (PBB) files. After entering Libronix CD key (using same Logos.com login as Logos 4), can sync licenses to Logos servers, then switch to Logos 4 Mac: restart or use update now command to download resources, then index for use.

Note: Logos 4 Mac stable and beta versions currently have resource downloading issues so may take several times (and restarts) to download all resources.

Thank you for that link to the Wiki page- I know that will definitely come in very handy! I do have Virtual PC, but for some reason my "Virus Protection" did not like me installing Libronix. Ugh! So frustrating! That is why I love my Mac! LOL!

I think I may just wait to call customer service later this week- the other round about way is going to take up too much of my time!

On a Mac, if using a Windows virtual machine to only run Libronix 3 and Logos 4, turning off (or not installing) virus protection is an option; could change Internet Explorer home page to http://www.logos.com

I think I may just wait to call customer service later this week- the other round about way is going to take up too much of my time!
