Thanks for this great app!  I have just a couple of questions that I couldn't find answers to on the forum.

First, I understand there are licensing issues with some resources on mobile devices.  Are there plans to obtain these licenses in the future?  Some of my most used resources are not available (Bible Knowledge Commentary and Wiersbe's Expostionary Commentary are two).

When you download a resource, where is it saved?  To the phone or the SD card?  I moved the app to the SD card, but I don't think that included any downloaded resources.

Hi Brent  - and welcome to the forums

When you download a resource, where is it saved?  To the phone or the SD card?  I moved the app to the SD card, but I don't think that included any downloaded resources.

There is a related discussion to this at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/34464.aspx which might give some pointers.

Maybe I have made a mistake somehow in installation but on my Xperia X10 I am getting an error message when I open up the app: "Could not copy files to SD card." immedeately upon starting after it "intiallizes."

This is odd because on my Xoom, the app runs very smooth, I am looking forward to the more advanced features soon! Thanks.

Thanks so much! Finally a long awaited Android version! I Just installed in my Dell Streak and also in my Acer Iconia A500 Tab and it works great. At least we have access to our libraries but we are waiting for more features like highlight, underline or make notes. A better integration with Honeycomb (like using Honeycomb menu instead of the 2.x.x.x versions) . My Nelson Map module will not open all the maps.  Overall very , very happy with this release. Thank you!

It did not download on my brand new minutes old Tbolt. Any ideas? I've tried directly thru the website & thru the blog.logos.com. Thanks.

The app installed fine on my Acer Iconia a500 and HTC EVO.

Not familiar with the setting on the Tbolt, but did you enable "unknown source" on the application setting. I know you said you cannot download it, did you try to install Dolphin and use this browser to download? Otherwise download it in your PC (Mac) and put it on your SD or transfer via cable o wirelessly with apps like File Expert or ES File Explorer.

Works fine on Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. But I found one problem. The Verse picker does not work in the B2000 (Swedish Bible). It works OK in all the other Swedish Bibles. In B2000 it displays "No data." In the iPhone app it works correct.

Installed and works great on my HTC Incredible, Verizon Wireless, Android 2.2. Despite the small screen on this little phone, I have done a lot of reading on it, especially with the Kindle App and the Olivetree. I am very pleased to get the Logos Beta! It works surprisingly well for so early in the game. I am looking forward to highlighting, bookmarks and favorites. That would make it just about perfect for me! I have been reading N. T. Wright's Scripture and the Authority of God on my Kindle 3 and Kindle app for Android (used Mobipocket Creator to convert). Both allow me to highlight, but of course do not synchronize with Logos, and links are dead. To me, knowing Logos, all of this is coming and more. The future is very bright indeed! Thanks for this app.

Yes, I did enable the "unknown source" in settings. I know nothing about Dolphin. Bc of what Logos said, I thot it was only to be download on "your device." I'll have to ask my husband about transferring it via cable or wirelessly w these also unknown-to-me apps. I'm really knew w/an Android! Thanks for your help.

Dolphin is an app just like the others i mentioned, they are all free and can be dowloaded from the market. dolphin is a browser that has less restrictions than the native one.

you can also download the file on your computer and then email it to yourself as an attachment and then when you open the attachment on your device it will download it

This is a nice start. I can read my library from either my Samsung Epic 4G phone or my Samsung Galaxy Tab. The tablet is my preferred reader.

I am anxious for more functionality; for example search across my entire  library.

I've been waiting for Logos on my Android devices for a long time. Happy to see it finally arriving.

Installed on my Droid X, and it took about 17.5Mb. Moved app to SD card, and now it only takes up 4.38 on the main memory. I've posted a quick initial response/review here:

Evo 4G with latest updates on OS.

I am very excited that this process has begun. I cannot wait for all of the features of the iPhone app to make it to Android. I appreciate your efforts. I am sure you are swamped. Important updates that I feel are needed ASAP:

    1. Navigation
      1. Bible navigation like YouVerse
      2. Other navigation (settings etc.) like Olive Tree
    2. Linkable Split Screen
    3. In the iPhone demo when the user tapped on the open resource menu options came up that included all other open resources. This is NEEDED!
    4. Font options
      1. Size
      2. Highlight
    5. Note Taking
    6. Categorize the resources
      1. Put all Bibles together in a Bible folder, Commentaries together in a Commentary folder, etc.
      2. Put Commentary collections together so that they are either in one folder or are represented by one icon. When selected it will either open to the location of the last selected versified book that is open or initiate a pop up that will ask what location the resource should be opened to.

    To Logos:

Do you recommend trying to install this on a Nook Touch via rooting?

    Other recommendations?

Thanks so much, and I hope I can!!!

Brian how did you get it on the Nook Color, do you need a SD in the Nook too?

Thanks Logos, love the app so far. Loaded without a hitch on my HTC Incredible, used it on Sunday for our opening scripture reading. Nice and smooth, really appreciate the work going into this. As others have mentioned, a menu on startup would be much nicer than having the Library appear first. I too like how the iPhone app is setup, so I am thinking the Android app will follow a similar path. All in all enjoying the beta so far [:D].

Just installed beta on my Motorola Xoom android tablet.  Putting it through its initial startup was easy, all my books loaded so quickly it was crazy (I am on a mifi out in the boondocks).  Turning tablet met with easy and fluid turns of page orientation.  Will play some more and let you know, but I am ECSTATIC at the way I can read this so easily.  Beats an iphone install anyday.

Installed smoothly on my Droid Pro and it moved some of the files to my SD card smoothly. So far I like what I see..I have looked at a couple of books and the reading layout is good.[;)]

Since "* Not all resources are available on mobile devices due to license restrictions from the publishers."

I would like to see the number of resources displayed in the Library. This will help those of us who have large libraries to gage how much of our purchased content is available in the Androis App.

It could look similar to the http://library.logos.com library display.

working great I love it keep it up, I would like to be able to access my clippings and notes on here. and a possible basic search engine with a word search too would be great. And how do I get updates on the HTC DESIRE for this app since it is not from the market place?

So far...been playing with it for a few hours. Overall a pleasant experience.

Installed on Samsung Exhibit 2.3.3 Gingerbread. Noticed one problem with out of the blue crashes or re-boots to home screen (login screen) when viewing or clicking on books. Lags and unresponsive browsing. Problem when tapping "back" during navigation takes me back to the library and not the previous page. Also had a couple times with "could not create a resource display" issue.

Also, maybe not a software problem, but would like to see more cross references and Greek or Hebrew translations/references.

    Update soon!
