This is primarily a maintenance release. The next release will be in the Android Market.

- Apocryphal book abbreviations are no longer clipped in the verse picker
- Fixed numerous force-closes and bug reports
- Resource downloads not resuming if the app force-closes
- Beta 6: Fixed text not appearing in resource location slider
Known Issues
- Popups do not display Greek and Hebrew correctly
- Right-to-left text (especially Hebrew) does not display correctly
- Poor network connection may show an error message
- Network connections from behind a login page are not supported (e.g. a hotel or other hotspot that requires login)
- The app will crash if there is no SD card
- Links inside footnotes are not clickable
- Media resources, e.g. 1000 Bible Images, do not download correctly
- Some apocryphal books cannot be navigated to through the verse picker
- The verse picker does not navigate to "missing" verses
- The ASV is used instead of the preferred bible when offline
- The resource location slider sometimes does not appear

In preparation to release in the Android Market, we have removed our internal auto-updater for this release. If you got the update to Beta 5, and not the update to Beta 6, you'll need to install Beta 6 from the website (http://downloads.logos.com/Android/Logos/beta/index.html).

Seems to be smooth...
One thing I did notice was that on Beta 5 the pop-up in a Bible was just white with no text, in Beta 6 there is no pop-up in Bibles. The couple non Bible resources I tried had the black text showing where the location slider was in the resource...

Hey David, Had the (empty) popup on resource location slider on beta 5, but don't see it on beta 6.
Verse picker styling much better.

Thought I'd share a tip in case anyone else hits the issue I just did; Logos updated to v6 just fine on my color nook & I opened it, then hit a wrong key and closed the app. When I tried to launch it again, I couldn't get it to start. Tried everything; moved it from/to SD card, deleted it, reloaded it, yada yada.
I was trying to open it from the shortcut on my "desktop"--whatever Android calls the screen you can drag icons to--and that stopped launching the app after I upgraded. Oddly enough, when I looked into the icon's properties, it knew it was v6. I was able to run v6 just fine from the screen that holds all the apps--whatever Android calls that--and when I dragged that icon back to the "desktop", it then launched as normal.
Hope this tip helps others avoid frustration.

Download and install went very smooth. So far no problems noticed. [:D]
I have been very impressed with how smooth, overall, the beta process has been for the Android app. Not perfect, but a great functional app - well worth the wait.

The update to 6 Downloaded automatically and then asked permission to update. Is there or will there be an option to update on Wifi Only? I have a limited Data Plan (200MB) and the Carriers are dropping unlimted so I only want to update when I Wifi to preserve my data plan.
Also, the Icon on my Home screen would no launch Logos after the update. I had to delete the shortcut and drop it back on from the apps menu.

I had something similar - http://community.logos.com/forums/t/35189.aspx - where it was suggested that this may be an issue with HTC phones (although someone in that thread also reported it on a Motorola device).
What device are you using?

The auto-updater was only in place before we could release to the Android Market, and has been removed in beta 5/6.
The home screen issue seems strange to me, but may also have been caused by our auto-updater. I will be curious to know if they continue to occur after installing a couple times from the market.

David the homescreen issue seems to be a shortcut issue. I had this happen as well, but have had it happen on other apps as well. As soon as you create a new homescreen shortcut from the updated apk works fine.

How do I know which Beta version I have loaded?

Hi Rupert
If you access Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications and click on Logos you should get that information.
(This works on my HTC device, I don't know if other devices have different menu structures)

App asked me to update which I promptly did. Now I can not access the app. Checked which version is now installed: now beta 5. Will manually update to beta 6

Just downloaded Beta 6. It opened once app downloaded but I still can not access the app from the logos icon, instead I get the message that linked programme is no longer installed on phone.

It is an HTC Inspire 4G. Rooted to allow Titanium Backup and Non market apps, Other than that it uses the Stock ROM.
