Logos Forums on the iPad
Does anyone have any issues with replying to posts in the forum on their iPad?
I have found that it works perfectly sometimes, and yet at others when I have hit reply, it wont let me bring the keyboard up in the body of the reply message in order to type anything.
Curious if anyone else has experienced the same?

Hi Aaron
I don't have an iPad but I have seen discussions where people seem to be having similar problems.
Please see http://community.logos.com/forums/p/23438/174656.aspx and http://community.logos.com/forums/p/21066/157891.aspx for some examples

yes, Aaron, this has been going on now for 2-3 weeks now. There have been many times that I can not post for more than 10 hours... and I just quit. other times it is just slow... right now, it seems to be fine.

Hi Kelly,
still a no go for me. I now review the forum on the iPad, and then try to recall which threads I'd like to comment on and do so on the Mac when I go home.
Hopefully it will change in future updates

I'm having the same trouble still as well. At first I thought it was just my fat fingers... Is this something that can be fixed?

Ok posting now from the HTML editor; I guess this is better than nothing. The only trouble is that it opens a new webpage on the iPad. I guess there are reasons for this too?

It has been a while since I did this, but there is a plus sign in the upper right corner. Tap that and add Logos Bible Software to the name and http://community.logos.com/forums/TopicsActive.aspx?ForumID= to the URL and tap save. I can't remember if there were steps before that or not. Hope this helps. The program may have added the URL automatically. Once I do something instinctively, I soon forget what I did! :-)

thank you Very much Jerry, I now have found that I had a different app, so now I need to get this one... I understand that you have it working, but I also see that many are saying that the app crashes a lot... do you find this to be true?

Must admit, I've never really thought the few extra "steps" needed to post to the forums with Safari on an iPad so intrusive to warrant spending money on a dedicated forum reader. Ok, so I'm a hard up, money pinching, soon to be student again without two brass farthings to rub together but is the HTML route really that onerous?
I think I'd find an app to view forums more of a chore, as then I can't simply browse the web, like I can if running Safari. I'd have to come our of one app and into another. I did try TapTalk (?) on some other forums but dumped it and find Safari so much easier, though I do get a bit fed up with the number of websites now popping up windows telling me they have TapTalk enabled and wouldn't it be better for me to use it. No! Let me just casual surf
and yes, this was posted (and edited) on my iPad.

The only thing I see as a complication with using the HTML editor in Safari on my iPad is the absence of emoticons support.

How do you put in line breaks when using the "HTML" option?
I find that multiple lines are stringed together when returning from the HTML window, unless I manually put in <BR> for line breaks (and <BR> is a pain to type on an iPad). Is there an easier way?
Thanks,
Peter

I know what you mean about typing the BR code though, or /P. It is a bit of a chore on an iPad, as one needs to flip between the .?123 key and the #+= key.

Found a slightly easier way:
Use the <pre> tag, and it will preserve the line breaks.
But you have to be careful with the < and > symbols.
Hope this helps.

PeterThink I'll stick with typing the < /p >.

Bottom line is, I heard that iOS 5 will make Safari compatible with the rich text editor being used for the forums, so I'm looking forward to that. Hope it won't be too much longer.
