How about this one. http://www.logos.com/product/8537/the-jewish-encyclopedia#004 Looking at the scanned pages, it seems like a good reference work.
[Y]. Why this resource has not move into production i cannot explain. I have been in with my bid from day one.

I'm also in and hoping this one moves quickly to production.
Bump.
I do wish more people would get in on this.
Me too. I know you can search it for free elsewhere, but having the Logos integration/functionality for such a modest price would be great.
Bump. Over 8000 pages. Great resource. $50 bid gets it moving. Need I say more?
Me too. This is a great resource!
This is a great value! It's running $350 to $400 used or in reprint editions.
I have been in on this one for sometime too. As Rosie said - it is a GREAT value for the $.
Thank you for this thread...I thought I had bid on this one...but hadn't...the situation is now rectified!
[:)]I followed the link to bid and saw that I had . . . on November 11, 2010.
[Y]
I bid $50 on 11/4/2010...Lets get this thing over and into production![Y]
I too thought I was in and now actually am.[:)]
It's getting very close. Give it a little push with your pinky and it just might go over the top. Join the party !

Is it over the top yet George? [:P]
But, what if I am not Jewish-?

Then you learn more about Jewish belief and practice and get some hints on the cultural world of the scriptures. [:)]

Then you need to wear some golden spectacles (not provided). [;)]
For anyone who is not Jewish, Judaism is the foundation of our Christian Faith. To become more knowledgeable about Judaism is to:
1. Understand the life of Jesus and the Apostles, all Jews, more
2. Understand the worship, rituals, and beliefs of the Early Church Fathers a little better;
3. Understand Jesus' teaching better - to understand covenant, sacraments, baptism, etc. better
4. Understand the symbolism or meaning of light, water, fasting, prayer, etc. better
I hope this resource goes over the top!
Okay, fine...I'm in!
Give it a little push with your pinky and it just might go over the top.
sadly, it looks like we might get smoked on the two-day close again. maybe we can hold off pushing it over the edge until wed afternoon...

Well I guess it is time to turn in my scratched and hard to clean rose colored glasses...oh well. I knew the day would come....

But I qualify as a Gentile, Wasn't Paul's teachings adequate?
But, what if I am not Jewish-? For anyone who is not Jewish, Judaism is the foundation of our Christian Faith. To become more knowledgeable about Judaism is to:
Judaism is one of the oldest religions still existing today. It began as the religion of the small nation of the Hebrews, and through thousands of years of suffering, persecution, dispersion, and occasional victory, has continued to be a profoundly influential religion and culture. Today, 14 million people identify themselves as Jewish. Modern Judaism is a complex phenomenon that incorporates both a nation and a religion, and often combines strict adherence to ritual laws with a more liberal attitude towards religious belief.
But i do not want to be "ritualistic"...that would make me an "essentially orthodox traditionalist" - wouldn't it?

God bless you in your journey! You are not reading about Judaism to become a Jew, but to better understand your roots as a Christian. Christians and Jews have some important ideological differences obviously...but they do love and embrace the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.....as do we! God "chose" the Jews as a nation not meaning they are "chosen", meaning better, but in a vocation as a nation of priests - meaning simply, to bring the world to Christ. We, as Christians, embrace that same vocation as well! Wouldn't it be wonderful to learn more how they saw, embraced, practiced, were challenged, and loved that vocation and the God who blessed them with it?

But didn't they refect God, thus it was brought to us via Paul?......
I have read the Torah, Tanak, and Mein Kampf......they were all struggling.....

WOW. Seriously--an incredible resource like that would not sell for that price in a yard sale.
God is truly blessing his people, educating his champions, and moving forward in today's world.
Maybe a few people would be willing to move their bids down to $45 until wed to keep it from crossing over the threshold?
That would give us another week to bring the final price down.

I have moved mine to 45.00
After this collection crosses over, how long will the community pricing be available? Or is it pretty much over once the thing crosses over?
The next following Wednesday determines. It's the Friday following the next Wednesday. It then goes to pre-pub while it's under development.
Depends when community bidding reaches 100 % of estimated production cost. Bidding closes on Fridays at Noon in Bellingham with a minimum of 48 hours after reaching 100 % before closing. Maximum time from 100 % to closing is a bit less than 168 hours. At closing time, bids are converted into pre-publication orders. If enough additional bids are placed after crossing 100 %, the closing order amount would be reduced for all bidders.
Keep Smiling [:)]
Peace, John! *smile* Am taking your advice and just moved my bid down to $35 USD. Hopefully that will make a difference and stretch the bidding for a week; and we can get the price down a few dollars. However! Don't want to miss this, so let's someone on this thread remind ourselves to raise our bids again after it passes Wednesday.
If you have placed a bid on an item, Logos automatically notifies of impending closure. Occasionally I will place a lowball bid on something so that I will have time to consider the matter and be notified if I want to get serious.
Hi George! You're correct, of course! Just realised that now as I read your post! I'm up past my bedtime cuz couldn't sleep, so my mind must be sleeping! Blessings; and thanks for the post!
Thanks for the info. There's are many things to learn about when starting to use Logos, and I'm grateful for the supportive folks of the forums.
This resource just crossed over the 100% line. We've got until Fri to get that $50 down a bit!
That would be great if we could. I wonder how many people that represents. I wish that the software would show that as it got closer to the end.
it's so close to $45...
The Jewish Encyclopedia (12 vols.)
WOW.. All I can say is this work is stupendous. I realize if you didn't get it community pricing you are not getting it for the $50 I paid but I can say after looking through several entries I would say it;s worth every penny of it;s now regular price. Thank you Logos for bringing us this wonderful resource.
