What happened
I compiled a source document I've been working on and then I clicked on an old pb that I had started under a previous beta but had not added a source document (I think the only I designated was a title. I then clicked the x to close it so I could recompile some other pbbs.
Logos then crashed

I reopened Logos, rebuilt a book that was a couple of betas old, everything looked good
Went to the next book in the list that was a couple of betas since it had been built. Build failed, closed the first rebuild pbb, retried the build, it looked like it was going to work then Logos crashed.
I will email the source document to logos4feedback.

Update on the current crash. I have a series of similar files to the one that crashed Logos above and some have images at the end of the file and others do not. The ones without images compile fine. All the ones with images crash. The error message suggested that memory corruption was an issue but I was able to open the docx files and they appeared to be fine.
Kevin,
We haven't been able to reproduce the crashes you're getting, but we have submitted your logs and source document to development for review. Thanks.
I just read in another thread that Protected memory indexer crashes might be related to Norton. I have Norton as my AV right now. Could this be the issue (yeah I know, long shot)? My subscriptions expires in a month and I'll be changing AVs then.
Development isn't inclined to think Norton is causing these, but they are looking into it. I will let the developer working on your crash in PBB know you have Norton installed. Do you have Norton set to ignore or to allow access to Logos4.exe and Logos4Indexer.exe?
Edit: What version of Norton software do you have installed (i.e., 360, Internet Security, AntiVirus)?
I don't think I've excluded Logos4.exe or Logos4Indexer.exe, I checked the settings and didn't see anything. Also, the Norton logs don't say it did anything recently besides removing tracking cookies.
You might try excluding them to see if that makes a difference. Also, please see my edit above about version.
I have Norton Internet Security.
I went through and excluded the Logos4 folder from all scans and file insight

I think I've ruled out Norton.
I started up my desktop computer which has Norton Internet Security also, the file compiled fine (exact same file synced with Mesh)
Then, I uninstalled Norton, rebooted and the file still crashed my laptop.

Thank you for trying those steps. i'll update the bug case.
Hmm, odd
So I downloaded and installed beta 13. One of the files that had been crashing Logos on my laptop compiled fine. Then one of the ones that didn't cause any problems came up with the "You own this but it's not in your library message.
I restarted Logos and the books showed just fine but the next "crashing" book I tried to compile crashed the program.

I've been having some system instability with the laptop the past couple of days. I suspect I've got some driver corruption so I'll be working on that... perhaps it'll fix this crash too.

We'll review the new logs. I reported something similar to development earlier today, so it may be the same problem.
A quick update.
I noticed that in this beta the conversion/compiling process seemed to be taking longer and that the crash was happening right after conversion was done and it moved to compiling
I decided to try creating a couple new PBBs from files that had been crashing the program. They compiled just fine. It seems that the issue might be in the removal of the old book files and not specifically in the source file. Either way the work-around is deleting the personal book and starting the process again.

I'll pass on that information. Thanks.
Follow up: The developer says that your log indicates the code is trying to create a temporary file in the current folder (which he believes should be the logos4 install folder, "C:\Users\Kevin\AppData\Local\Logos4"), and this fails. Your observation that it only happens with images supports this, as the code in question will be hit when images are in the file. It could be some type of permission problem. That problem and crash should be resolved in the next release, though, as the temporary file will now go into the Temp folder ( "C:\Users\Kevin\AppData\Local\Temp") folder which should not have any permissions issues.
