Thanks

I get the hint Dan and Alabama... I need to double my RAM!
Scrolling through resources is smooth (unless of course I've got multiple links to them)passage guide and word study results take the longest in my custom layouts (sometimes over a minute to complete)

Quad core Intel Core i7 2.3 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Running OSX Lion.
Runs great. No complaints.
Andrew,
What is the speed of your HDD (5400 or 7200)?
thanks
Is there a noticeable difference in speed from the 5400rpm to the 7200rpm HDD?

Been asking question and reading threads and not sure how fast or slow this might be. If it is slow, I can return the machine to Best Buy within 14 days
Steve, I know Logos is not a 64 bit program and thus can't take advantage fully of 8 GBs of RAM (as I understand it) there is a clear distinction in the speed of the program between 4GB and 8GB of RAM. If you buy the computer you are considering, I highly recommend doubling your RAM, or else buy one with 8GB installed. This is coming from someone with a 4GB MacBook Pro.
Paul, what is the rpm of your HDD?
Observation: 7200 RPM drive is up to 33 % faster than 5400 RPM drive, which is noticeably faster in many Mac applications.
For MacBook Pro, Mac Sales sells do it yourself laptop upgrades => http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/SATA/DIY/
RAM of 8 GB allows operating system to automatically cache files in memory for quicker access.
New MacBook Air models have faster Solid State Disks (SSD). Also noticed build to order SSD options. While SSD is faster, currently capacity is smaller that hard drives.
Noticed refurbished 15" MacBook Pro with 128 GB SSD and 2nd Generation 2.2 GHz i7 => http://store.apple.com/us/product/G0M10LL/A for $ 80 less, slower drive with more capacity => http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC723LL/A (750 GB vis 128 GB) With smaller 500 GB drive and 10 % slower CPU, price drops more => http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC721LL/A
Keep Smiling [:)]
250GB 5400RPM
It's only 5400.
I have very similar spec (Processor speed only 2.8), with Lion downloaded last week. Bought Logos 4 yesterday (Scholars Library) - quite slow, very jerky performance) - disappointed
Wonder if Logos 4 indexing complete ?
Wiki Getting Started with Logos page has Installation + Indexing section.
Wiki Logos 4 Mac page has What to Expect section that includes: "Three Logos 4 Mac menus do not follow historic Mac conventions: File, Guides, and Layouts - recommend quick click to display menu (may take seconds to display), then can right OR left click on menu items."
Thankful Logos has 30 day refund policy. Likewise Thankful for Logos library; some menu actions feel slow in Logos 4 on Mac and PC (take seconds to populate).
