@DanPritchettDan Pritchett Biggest collection @Logos has ever released, coming soon ...for free! 1st come 1st served. Can you guess what it is? 1 hour ago via TweetDeck
Everything Logos publishes? Well, one can hope -- they can even be audacious about it. [6]
books.logos.com ?
PBB? collection = all public domain books you care to convert
How do you get files from books.logos.com?
Lessee, if its the Biggest collection then it'll surpass some of those mega collections like the Calvin 500. so. I'm guessing its a compilation of all the community.logos.com forum posts.
Yuk, yuk ! [D] Thanks, I'll have another. [B]
Does it have to do with Vyrso?

That was funny [:D]
3000+ titles? Blowing scholars minds? Free? Man, I will never get to sleep tonight!
You do need to read them online ... and there is a bit of a quality issue
Umm, Who said Dan was going to tell us tonight? I hope you will not be operating heavy machinery tomorrow morning. [|-)]
Logos has a track record for releasing big stuff while the kiddies are asleep. It reminds me of Santa Claus. (I apologize if I offend anyone with this analogy.)
The quickest & easiest release of 3000 scholarly works would be free access to half of the SeminaryLibrary.com collection and a subscription offer to the rest.
Ok Dan P. replied back with "so close!" to both Timothy Ha and SuperTramp on Twitter, and we're suppose to monitor the blog for the details...
I'm placing my bet on a set from the Society for Biblical Literature as Logos already has a relationship with them and they offer many items free on the net. [See the web resources reading list if you doubt me][8-|]

The reason we release so much during the night is because we get so excited we can't sleep either!
I am wondering what does "
...for free! 1st come 1st served
mean?
Not free for all, but for the first correct guessing person?
I suggested Loeb Classical Library since there was a talk about it when Logos published Harvard Classics.
Finally…
John 21:25 | NAS
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.

But Timothy, I tweeted the LOEB Library before you did. [:O] I don't think it would be great news if only lil' ol' me won....
(OK, who am I lying to? It would be great for me at least. But I hope it is great for everybody.)

On Twitter it says: "quantities are not limited, it is just so massive we actually have to throttle the download bandwidth! It really is huge!"
It's midnight in Bellingham and we're still waiting but that's ok because it's 3:00pm here where I am so I can afford to wait all night
I am so... tempted to say "a comprehensive package of Syriac, Coptic, Nestorian, St. Thomsaite ... literature ... with a bit of Samaritan, Karaite and Islamic materials tossed in to complete an Abrahamic religions package"
But are there even 3000 volumes that specific to this wish list?

I'm sure there are - at least based on the experience of the computer project collecting old Greek fragments. The best scholars' estimates were off by more than a power of 10.
MJ, It doesn't sound like they would need to throttle bandwidth for that. I'm guessing the contents of the

I'm guessing the contents of the Perseus Project. Tom

That could be quite nice ... I'm not sure it meets the 3000+ criterion but it would be as close as any of my suggestions. But I do hope Dan's "soon" occurs "soon" because I keep interrupting my reading (Jewish Feasts and The Gospel of John) to check if it is up yet.

Vyrso is "coming soon" and that's been ages but he said "very soon" is his last twitters so I hope that means tonight...

And it's such fun for us for whom your night is our day!!
Newer translation...
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written. Until one day, when the world will receive the invention of silicon through my inspiration and blessing. Then the world's books and more will be placed on your index finger. I will bless one with the inspiration of the Turing machine, and search and analysis functions will enlighten the exploration of these books. Only then will the remainder of Jesus Christ's ministry will be revealed, to the praise and glory of God the Father.
Could it be a Martyn-Lloyd Jones Collection?!
Or what about the
Popular Patristics series by St. Vladimir's Seminary Press
Thousands are coming, but we're working on getting the store set up. It'll be a few more weeks.
Surprise Surprise
Since its free, and... since Dan didn't say it was books... and since it is huge... My guess is that it is our huge collection of notes on iPad, iPhone, iPod.
Would love to see more SBL stuff, especially FREE!
Do you think that it might be all the Libronix PBB's currently out there? Either released as downloads, or an online conversion website for L4? The second would make sense in reference to the bandwidth limitations, wouldn't want everyone using a server based converter at the same time...
I think you are right. I think it is going to be opening of a server with all pbbs (except those titles that are in the Community Pricing or other offers of Logos already). Converted to the Logos 4 format and ready to use - for free. :-)Nice dream, isn't it.

I am going to venture a guess and say a database of HD Greek Manuscripts.

I think you got it. In light of this: http://indrasinha.com/2010/09/27/precious-greek-manuscripts-now-readable-online-thanks-to-the-british-library/
& the fact other venues of free access to this database are appearing around the world, it makes sense Logos would tap into this collection. But whatever it is, I like the differing ideas everyone has suggested.
Opening up all the current PBB books to Logos 4 through a conversion of some type could really help a lot of the poorer Christians in the World to build libraries.
Count me in among the poorer ones. [:D]
That would be cool but there are only around 1000 Libronix format PBBs that I know of. So this is something different Dan is teasing us with.
Clifford B. Kvidahl:'I am going to venture a guess and say a database of HD Greek Manuscripts.'
Agree with Clifford ... it fits in well with Logos' recently announced 'post-pub' program, where Logos develops the resource behind the scenes, and then offers it free only to the early-birds.
Logos' recently announced 'post-pub' program
Where was this announced, do you have a link?
Hmmm.... I wonder if....
Thesaurus Linguae Graecae http://www.tlg.uci.edu/
That was my second guess. In light of Dan's remarks about Loeb, TLG might be a good guess.
You know - it may be something as mundane as the opening of the official Vyrso store
Hmmm.... I wonder if.... Thesaurus Linguae Graecae http://www.tlg.uci.edu/
Yum, yum. [pi] That makes my mouth water. I think, however, that the contents of the TLG are continually growing.
Except that doesn't fit the clues of 3,000+ free titles that will excite scholars... [;)]
Dominick ... that's my usual poor humor (since it'd be 180 degrees from Logos' usual).
But since we're all guessing, 3000 titles and interesting to scholars does sound like access to a specialized library thru Logos4. Now that WOULD be very tasty.
Very, very delicious.
Well, one of you guessed right! (The hyperlink leads to this thread) [:)]
