zoom
Is there a way to zoom in on maps or illustrations?
I find that the maps in the Holman Bible Atlas or the illustrations in the ESV Study Bible are too small to be of any use. I can't read it clearly, even on the iPad.

Henry, did you find an answer to this? I had the same question in my mind today after I starting using the same resource and realized it was very hard to see the maps and that zooming doesn't seem possible with the usual iPad gesture.

Thanks, Kevin. Your "yet" gives me hope for the future. :-)

Has this feature been implemented yet? This is a must!

First, welcome to the forums!
With some experimentation this afternoon, I don't think this feature has been implemented yet. I don't know if Logos has any plans to implement this anytime soon. I do know that highlighting and notes are coming "soon." You can always start a new thread with the subject: "Suggestion: Zoom" to catch Logos' attention.

This is badly needed. Zoom by "pinching" would be a great, great step forward.

Why does android have the ability to zoom on a map or image but iOS does not? Logos really really needs to get this implemented...

This thread is 5 years old... it's usually a good idea to create a new one.
Exactly which resource and image are you referring to? Many resources do allow zooming in on maps and images.

I don't see what advantage there could be to keeping it resource-specific. It's rare that I come across an image in any resource - on the desktop or mobile app - that I wouldn't want the ability to zoom in on.
Still, the first example that comes to mind is the Zondervan NIV Study Bible. I can't seem to zoom in on any of the maps/images there, and many of them look like they could be interesting.

Well, not every resource is the same. We don't purposely make some images non-zoomable, but if images are inline with a resource and don't have an external source that can be opened in a media viewer, they are usually not zoomable.
Further, we don't get vector graphic images from publishers that can be zoomed in and will remain at high resolution (say, like a PDF will), so even if you could zoom in they would look very blocky.

I know the thread is old but I just thought this was just a feature iOS doesn't have... Zoom doesn't work in at least the following:
Most importantly the Zondervan Encyclopedia of the Bible 5 Volume Set
But also...
Holman Bible Atlas
New Bible Atlas
Rose Then and Now Bible Atlas
...
Even if you don't have high res vector files it would still be of use to zoom.

Just and addendum to my list of resources directly above this post. Logos only sells about four Atlas products and when all images in three of those four products cannot be zoomed then they have little to no benefit. At the very least every Atlas should have zoomable images.
