BHS 4.2 Lemma searching not working

This was happening for some time now, but I have been using 4.0 for lemma searches. The problem is, 4.0 doesn't support sympathetic highlighting, so I want to use 4.2.

When I right-click a word, I can choose lemma, but when I click "Search this resource," I get nothing. If I choose, "search all open resources," the BHS 4.2 search is run, but I get far too many responses from other resources.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a Toshiba. My processor is an AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile M520; 2300 mhz; 8 gb of RAM.

My software is Logos Bible Software 4.3 (4.30.0.1516), updated yesterda.

I have tried rebuilding the index.

Please provide a screenshot of a Search with a word you right clicked + a shot of BHS 4.2 showing that word.

This is a pretty good example. Notice there are no hits. This works for any words.

Hmmmm, that's odd, it works on my system, and nothing looks off from your screenshot except the lack of hits.

Open up the program settings, hide the BHS 4.2, restart Logos. Unhide the BHS 4.2 and restart Logos again and follow any instructions to get a fresh copy to download and index.

Hopefully that will fix it.

Hmm that is odd, it seems like twice now this week BHS 4.2 has been corrupted somehow on people's system. Crazy coincidence, of all the thousands of resources and small percentage chance of corruption? Or is something else occurring? One to watch...

Yes, that's because 4.2 introduced an important element to Logos, homophone differentiation. That is Hebrew has many lemmas that have the same consonants. Back in the days of 3.5 and 4.0 trying to follow a lemma tag to a Hebrew dictionary was a crapshoot, there was good odds that you would end up in the wrong place. 4.2 fixed that and the approach Logos took with it allowed for the development of sympathetic highlighting.

Personally, I've hidden my Westminster 4.0.

I see we've managed to trick you. It's just a happy coincidence that homograph support was added at the same time as the feature that supports sympathetic highlighting, but they are unrelated. Sympathetic highlighting is, however, related to another significant advancement: the KeyLink tables that facilitate getting to the correct location in the lexicons regardless of differences between how the Hebrew Bible databases and lexicons spell the lexical forms (lemmas), or differences in their homograph number assignments. So that is another fairly compelling reason to use the latest versions of the different Hebrew Bible databases.
