Blank Search using field names.

I was trying to search for any books in my library that contain evangelism in the title and I typed

title:evangelism

in the search field and it returned nothing. I know I have resources with Evangelism in the title so I was wondering if anyone might have some answers. I am currently trying to do a rebuild of my index but I don't know if there is a known issue. I also tried using a different field author and had the same issue.

Suggest waiting for indexing to complete then try library search again.

Logos searching uses indexes.

After a Rebuild Index command the issue still persists. If I ope the library and search the library using title:evangelism or any other field name it works fine but using a search window it will not work. There is a problem here that needs to be addressed. Is there anyone els having this issue.

Wiki Getting Started with Logos has => Search and => Collections sections.

Observation: title:evangelism can be used in Library and Collections. Can search for evangelism in All Text to include Topics; likewise can search for evangelism in Heading Text and Large Text when looking for articles within resources (clicked triangle under All Text, then clicked check boxes):

Searching on "title:evangelism" in the search window is not a search for evangelism in the book title. The book metadata fields can't be searched on in the full text search window. They are only valid in the library window.

When you search on "title:evangelism" in the search window, it searches only the sections of text tagged as "title" (which in most cases in my library is image titles) for occurrences of "evangelism"---similar to how "footnote:evangelism" searches only the footnotes for "evangelism". I don't get any hits on title:evangelism either, but I do get hits on title:jesus, just to show that it works.

If you want to limit your text search to only books that have evangelism in the title, you need to use Collections:

Create a new collection (in the Collections window), give it a name, and enter title:evangelism in the "Start with resources matching" field,
Then go back to the Search window and set the search window to search only that collection rather than "Entire Library"

Thanks Todd, I thought there might be something I was doing wrong. I just needed a little reminder.
