Puritan Paperbacks - Banner of Truth

Does anyone know if Banner of Truth makes many books available in logos?
I would buy everyone of their puritan paperbacks series in a bundle if they would make them available. These short but very rich books would be great to setup in a reading plan.

Check the Logos web site. They have all of John Owen's works available including his commentary on Hebrews.

They tend to do Puritan collections by author. In addition to Owen's complete works and Bunyan's (already available), they've got the following in pre-pub. Ordering items in pre-pub is the best way to get a great deal on them.
- The Practical Works of the Rev. Richard Baxter
- The Works of Richard Sibbes
- The Complete Works of Thomas Brooks
And two more Puritans not on your list are also in pre-pub:
They will add more as people request them.
They also have this video series which is heavily based on Thomas Vincent's work: The True Christian's Love for the Unseen Christ

Which, to be honest, is driving me crazy. In most cases, I don't need all the works by an author, and neither does my budget. If I want to pick up a single work for a few dollars, I'm out of luck.

I couldn't agree more. Most Puritan author's works cover a wide range of interest and application. It would be far better to offer works singly as well as in sets. For example, don't want all of Baxter's works (and I can't justify the expense either to myself or the household treasurer – my wife) but I would be happy to pay for single volumes even at a higher price than the set's unit price.
I seem to recall having a similar problem with some commentaries – NIGTC were only available in a set, now they are available singly. However, other commentaries are still available only in sets. So while I would like some of the ICC series I can't possibly afford, and neither do I need, them all in a huge and expensive set. As matters stand I am never going to buy them, but if they were available singly that would be a different matter.
As a largely expository preacher, I buy what I need, when I need it, and my print library of over over 2000 volumes has been built up that way. Surely, offering individual volumes, even some time after the whole set has been produced, would generate more sales for the publisher. Surely, for a publisher this is a no-brainer!

Many of the puritan works are consistent with the Banner of Truth printings, down to the page number. However the Puritan paperback series is not available.
I have long (5+ years) been requesting this resource. I love having the whole works of Puritans, especially the Puritans I love most: Edwards, Owen, Bonar, & Baxter. But, I think that it would be more helpful to a broad range of buyers (and therefore also more lucrative to Logos) to offer the Puritan Paperback Series. I would jump on that in a second and be all over the internet trumpeting its potential publication if it were to hit prepub or community pricing!
Please work on this opportunity, Logos!

I agree with many of the sentiments here. While I appreciate the collections by author, the paperbacks series are short and widely recognized as each authors best writings. There is no way I would purchase Baxter's whole collection, but his book "The Reformed Pastor" is a jewel that I would love to have in logos. The paperback series would be a huge seller in my opinion. You can buy all 40 of them for $250 in print format. It is one resource I would pay retail for in logos format due to the richness of the contents, and the brevity to make all 40 books very readable.

Another solution would be when the revamped Logos 4 PBB is usable. Almost every one of the paperback books is public domain.

"The Reformed Pastor" is available on Logos. I have it. I got it through E4 years ago. I just wish that it were available on the iPad so I could read it while on the go. Is there any hope of that happening?

E4 resources are no longer available. However, Logos' Richard Baxter collection has been broken up so the individual volumes are available for purchase. The Reformed Pastor is available in volume 14:

For those of you that only want your books in Logos and can not afford them or are waiting for them to come out I understand this 100%, but for those that want these kind of public domain books in an electronic format that you can place in collections, search, make notes on, mark-up, and more there is at least one free program that have many of these books and at least and allows you to put your own book in it if you have a little free time.
I use one such program and although it is not Logos, I feel great about what I can do with books that otherwise I could not even afford, it is great to be able to search these books and make notes on them or even mark them up, and of course put them in collections, I have 2100 books in my program(TheWord).
I also have another free program that only allows you to search one book at a time, but at least you can have your bible open next to it and do a few other things to the text. I know of one web site with over 3500 free modules for that one(E-Sword). On the plus side with a little effort any book I have in this program can be changed over to the other one with a little work, I hope this will also work with the new pbb feature in Logos!
Of course I would rather have all my books in Logos, but for one reason or another that is impossible for me, either expense or the book is not in Logos yet, this is a great option for me!
So depending on what you want you may be able to get some of those books in a format that would be real useful to you now, rather than waiting and hoping that Logos will carry them.

Jim

Now that Logos has personal books, you can import your copies of public domain books directly into Logos.

Are the Banner of Truth Puritan Paperbacks public domain? I am under the impression that they are all revised with updated language. For instance, Perkins' Art of Prophesying was revised by Sinclair Ferguson. Would that not remove these revised editions from public domain? I would love to be wrong.

Jacob Hantia, You said, that now I can import all my public domain books into Logos!
How can I do this?
Actually I have hope to put these books into Logos, but I don't even have anything that writes docx files and I am concerned about the amount of gain I would actually get for the time involved to do this. I am working on my Dr. in Theology, i am a Pastor-Elder, and also teach classes on how to use electronic bible study programs, plus I spend many hours collecting those modules. It is hard to see how I could justify spending the time converting all of those modules.
If a person has never used the Word program they might be shocked at how much can be done with it. Layouts, collections, searching all books or just a collection, tagging, marking up modules and much more, plus the notes feature is nicer than Logos 4 until now, and they can be searched. I will have to wait and see how this new Logos feature works out and how hard it will be to change the files over.
I would love all these files to be in Logos 4, do I have any body that wants to do that??? I would send them the files some way.
I would love for Logos to some day be my only needed bible study program and I see this as a step in the right direction.
I would also like to see it made possible to share all these modules with others at no charge, one of the good points about theWord is all these modules can be freely shared.

Jim, you do need the ability to create .docx files (Word2007 or Word2010). Basic Bible tagging happens automatically. Formatting is imported from Microsoft Word so you can format for Logos personal books as easily as you would format for a Microsoft Word file.
Then you get all the benefits of Logos on your document. This is quite a service that Logos is offering free of charge in making the personal book builder. You may want to list the files that you have in your possession and see if any volunteers from the forum may offer a labor of love to convert them.
