Problem with "Links to Visual Filters"

One of my favorite features is "Links to Visual Filters." I have never had a problem with it until very recently. I noticed the problem last week and I see that unfortunately it remains in the new 4.3 download.

The feature used to highlight only the verse that was open in my translation in my open lexicons. Now it highlights numerous other verses. This makes the lexicon page confusing: I have to look for the verse I have open in the midst of numerous highlighted verses, which makes the search for the verse I am looking for much longer instead of instantaneous. This renders the feature almost useless because sometimes I'll look through every highlight only to discover that the verse I have open in my translation isn't even listed.

Has anyone else had this problem? any suggestions?

Check to see if you have any searches open, any other visual filters engaged, they might be the cause of your issue.

An index problem could cause this too. If you search for the verse in question (after closing your Bibles so the highlight would disappear) does it work properly? If not try "Rebuild Index" in the command line.

If neither of these isolates the problem could you post a screenshot?

I was using a template that I made some time ago. Have done many searches with it. I didn't have any searches opened to all the references that were highlighted. So I decided to try starting a fresh template. That really seemed to make the situation worlds better. However, it hasn't gone away 100%.

The problem originally showed up in OT lexicons. So I tried fresh templates with OT and NT passages. Never had a single problem in the NT. However, in the OT very rarely, a different passage would show up at the same time the search passage did. For instance, in doing a word study in Pro 1:5, Pro 1:3 showed up in HAL. Then on Pro 1:2, Psa 147 showed up as well.

With no occurrence in the NT, I guess that it could just be an OT lexicon issue...just not sure. I checked to see if perhaps holding the cursor over the Psa 147 verse would reveal that Psa was incorrectly linked to Pro, but the proper verse popped up when hovering the cursor over Psa.

So I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I have nearly 4000 books, so rebuilding indexing is a long task.

At least I can now quickly find the related verse in the lexicons I have open without numerous other highlights showing up.

As a last thought, do you think it could be the template? or does it sound more like the index to you?

Thankfully, it's much better. They were all over the page before going to a fresh template. Perhaps the older, well-used template became confused with the last couple of updates.

Jeff, I suspect that everything is working correctly and you just have resources open to different references an this is causing the extra highlights.

Here's a test. Save your template if you need to. Use the command Close All.

Open HAL. Click on one of the scripture references so your highest prioritized Bible shows up. It should now be highlighted. Are there any extra highights? If not I think that you just have some references open you don't realize. If not then I think the chances are good you should try rebuilding your index. But the fact that re-creating your layout lessened the issue makes me think that it's not an index issue.
