Personal Book built on my laptop will not open on my desktop

I recompiled a Personal Book I made under the 3.0 version on my laptop. It shows up beutifully in Logos 4.3 on my laptop. When I got into work, I opened Logos 4.3 on my desktop. The book was there. So far so good. But when I tried to open it, I got the following message: "You don't have a license to view this resource, but you could.." It also does not show up on my iPad. Any ideas?

At the moment Bob, the information about the PBB's are syncing via the internet; but the book itself is not. The mechanism to do that is not currently in place or at least it's not active. I suspect it is still being built or tweaked.

For now you would have to compile books on each computer. In the future (we don't know how long) they should sync.

Yeah, Thomas, you're right. I found the same situation, and the only way to solve it is to go through the Build Book process for each computer. I did this on my laptop and desktop, but I'm waiting for the solution you mentioned before doing it on my other desktop.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to copy the resource from one computer to another? If the computers have sync'ed then I would have thought that the resource file should be discovered in your second computer's library.

Good thought Alan. I wonder if copying the book somewhere and then using the scan command to locate it would do the trick?

Unfortunately I don't have a second computer to test it on at the moment

I use Windows Live Mesh and it works great to keep folders synced between my desktop and laptop. This allows me to just go through and hit compile on the other computer without worrying about copying files to the new (This is b/c I use the same username on both computers so the file structure lines up exactly)

I was essentially going to say the same thing as Kevin. I use Dropbox (you can get a 2gB account free), and my username is the same on both computers, so the path for both is c:\user\[myusername]\dropbox\[folderwiththedocxfiles]

All you have to do then on the second computer is just to go down the list and click Build Book for each book!

You could do the same thing with any number of services (Syncplicity, Sugarsync, Spideroak, etc)
