Gregg Allison's Historical Theology--A Companion Volume to Grudem's Systematic Theology
Gregg Allison's Historical Theology: An Introduction to Christian Doctrine would be an excellant edition to Logos, especially since it is billed as a companion volume to Grudem's Systematic Theology (It was also written to stand on its own). Many of us already have Grudem, so this volume would be extremely helpful in tracing the theological development of the doctrines in Grudem's Systematic Theology. This book is not released yet, but it would be nice for Logos to get a jump start on this promising volume.

Here is Zondervan's Koinonia blog post dealing with Gregg Allison's Historical Theology: An Introduction to Christian Doctrine. The post states: "The format should look quite familiar to those who have used Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology in the classroom or to assist personal study. This is intentional, as Historic Theology is meant to be a companion volume to Systematic Theology as well as a stand alone resource." I am very interested in the concept of this volume, since I frequently use Grudem's Systematic Theology.

It is now available. Logos, any word from Zondervan on when we might get this?
Thanks!

Sign me up. This along with Garrett's Systematic Theology Biblical, Historical, & Evangelical would be a good combo.

LOGOS?? Any date on this? If it is more than a couple months I will just buy the hardcover, though I would prefer to purchase within Logos. Can you let us know ASAP?

I haven't checked on this title but remember that on the forum we only suggest titles and give some small indication of the potential popularity. They first we see in terms of Logos committing to offer the resource is the entry of the title in prepub. The amount of time spent in prepub is not predictable in that some titles move to production very quickly while others move very slowly. Then the resource goes into the production queue where from recent experience it appears that even Logos has only a rough estimate of a release date. So unless you have a book on your order list with a release date within the next month or so, you simply have to wait.

I'd like it in Logos too!
Logos should do a pre-pre-pub where people can pre-pre-purchase books they would pre-purchase if it were planned to go onto pre-pub, then we could put our money where our mouth is! :-)

Perhaps you were joking, but it's not a terrible idea. Kind of like a uservoice for which resources they should consider adding to pre-pub or cp.

Not joking at all. I think it would help Logos prioritize which items to put on pre-pub as opposed to waiting for people to post thumbs up. If it was set up in the form of the community pricing, they could also see what people would be willing to pay, which would help them on the pre-pub pricing side of the transaction.

Grudem handpicked Allison for this project. I have both print books for my classes. But both of these would be great together in Logos Bible Software. Grudem's electronic edition is already in Logos.

The idea has merit, but what also has to be remembered is that negotiations have to take place with the publisher. Just because we have Zondervan books now available in Logos doesn't mean we are automatically going to get every Zondervan book that users say they want. They are still very much in control of their resources and what they make available through the various e-book platforms including Logos. The same can be said of any publisher.
That issue aside I'd be interested in this title too if Zondervan would make it available.

I'm down. Love Grudem and my theology is similar. I'd love to have both books for Logos
Might even be better to put both in the base packages...
