Transliteration scheme for reverse interlinears?

I was just wondering if there was a transliteration scheme for L4's reverse interlinears stated anywhere (since they are incoprorated into the program, I can't seem to find one). I am asking specifically to understand the Hebrew transliteration used. Anyone with any Hebrew skills will probably wonder why I'm asking as it is probably obvious to them...well, I have only learnt the Hebrew consonants in the last couple of days, and am teaching myself the vowels...and I thought by going to the interlinear (which shows the Hebew and the transliteration) I could practice sounding out the words. I begun at Gen 1:1 as I know how it should sound, but trying to work it out from the transliteration is harder than I thought. Any suggestions?

I'm probably too inexperienced to offer help, but I am confused as to what you mean by "transliteration scheme." What do you mean by this? I took Hebrew last year at seminary so it's still kinda fresh, but I'm not really sure what you are asking about.

The manuscript transliteration format is selectable in the Program Settings window:

FYI, if you change the format, it doesn't automatically update your open resources. You'll have to switch the interlinear off and on, or close and open the resource window for it to update. Also the format specified doesn't seem to affect the Lemma transliteration.

Logos 4 actually supports a number of different transliteration schemes. You can find them in your Program settings. Pick the one that works best for you

I may be wrong, but it seems upon a quick observation that ISO 259 is used.

Again, I don't really know and I am not sure if that helps you or not, but maybe it's what you are looking for. Depending upon your base package you may have Beginning Biblical Hebrew by Mark D. Futato, which is a helpful resource in learning Hebrew. Have a great day!

Thank you Todd and Kevin...I didn't know you could choose between different transliteration schemes.

Are these schemes explained anywhere though? (small example - waw/vav = w/v...which is used)

I will play around with the different schemes and see the changes it makes...just thought there might be a simple list somewhere that denotes what's what.

I just meant what symbols are used for the different Hebrew letters that are obviously given various transliteration by different publishers.

I am using Futato...and viewing Mr Heisers videos on this grammar...and it was clear to me immediately that there were different ways in transliterating some of the letters, etc. Then when I looked at the interlinear, I understood some things, but others I was guessing...so I just wondered if the transliteration scheme(s) was anywhere stated. I don't know if "scheme" is the right word?

I am only studying for fun, not for grades anywhere.

These transliterations are from the Society of Biblical Literature Handbook of Style. You can easily find charts of them (the Academic and General) on the Internet, and Amazon has a book on the Handbook of Style. Others may have a specific recommendation of a reference...

Yes KS4J, that is what I am using (Hebrew with Heiser)...but it is slightly different to what I encountered in the reverse interlinear, so I just wondered...this thread has been most enlightening to me...thanks all
