PB link to quotation in another source???

Hi all,

I'm still getting my first personal document formatted as a PB. It looks great so far, and what an exciting new feature for someone who never built a book in L3. My problem, as such, is that I seem to be able to link surface text to another source, but no matter what I try, it seems to display the top of the page of that other source. I was trying to cause a quote waaay down the page to show, but simply copying that quote's wiki still generated the top of the page on hover-over. I changed the "off=" number, but it made no difference (and I don't know that it should, since I don't really know what it references). Since the quote is part of a paragraph with no headword or Large text, I can't quite figure out how to grab it. Am I attempting the impossible? Can this even be done? Any help is appreciated.

Sadly, that didn't work.

Here's what I typed, with non-essential text deleted:

a [[dynamic equivalency >> logosres:HLMNILLBBLDICT;ref=Page.pp_214-215;off=2940]] style . . . . . .that of [[formal equivalency >> logosres:hlmnillbbldict;ref=Page.p_214;off=2940]].

Both tags returned "top of the page" results on hover over, even though the link was copied from lower down the page. I left one as copied, and I "uppercased" the other. I really want the section explaining translation theory, not the section dealing with the Greek texts which is at the top of the same page. Thanks for bearing with my learning curve.

If you are talking about results you get in a hover over and not actually clicking to open the link, then this has been an issue in Logos books and I don't know if it has been corrected or not. See this thread.

When I click the link it also goes to the top of the page in the new, opened resource. If that is expected behavior, I hope they change their expectations at some point, but at least it's not my ignorance at play.

Of course, if anyone else has anything to add, I'm all ears (as a former presidential candidate once said). [:D]

Don't leave a space between "dynamic equivalency" and ">>" or between ">>" and the URL.

Hmmm...still didn't work. It keeps going to the top of the page. I have several others and all of them go to the top of the page versus the quote I highlighted and copied the wiki for. I'm baffled.

Page offsets aren't yet supported. Seems like a major deficiency, but I guess we need to wait:

I think offsets might indeed be supported. I ran into a problem with a project I am working on and found that I had to put what I wanted to link at the top of the page then click there before <ctrl-alt-C> to copy the URL. You might try that.

EDIT: If I didn't do that and ended up with an offset (since I wanted to link to the beginning of specific DSS texts), I ended up in the wrong place.

Thanks again, George. I'm still ending up at the top of the page. However, the offsets are in the links so I'm guessing they may not yet be fully supported. I hope that when/if they are, it will not need to be recompiled, but will simply recognize what is already there.

Thanks, Todd. I'll buy that for now. Especially since no combination of keystrokes seems sufficient for the current task.
