Can't find the serial number for Logos 4 on macbook pro 13" 2.1ghz i5

Logos 4 was given to me as a gift. i never could install it until I got a new intel based mac. so now i have a macbook pro and i don't know how to find the serial number to register it. don't know what I did with the box. any help would be greatly appreciated?

Also how do I know if it is indexing my library? It doesn’t seem to be doing anything???

When you wrote that "it was a gift.," do you mean that you are now using a license that someone else previously used... or that someone purchased a new license of Logos for you? You only need to "transfer" the license if someone else used it and you have not already done so. You also suggest that you are trying to install this on a new MBA. Did YOU have Logos 4 up and running on another computer?

You can also try to download the Logos 4 installer. If you already have an account, I think that you just enter your account details (email address) and things will start to download. NOTE: unless you have very few resources, it will take a while to download. Some people prefer to do this overnight. The indexing will also take a long time.

I decided to redo my answer to you. I see that you gave more info in this post. First, (just so I understand), have you EVER installed Logos 4 on ANY computer? Has this license been ever used before (i.e. did someone buy the software, use it, then decide to give it to you)? If someone else has used the license, you will need to "transfer" the license to you by calling Logos. If you own the license free-and-clear, and have installed the software on another computer (i.e. on a windows box), I think that you can download the installer and just enter your account info (email address).

You wrote: "How do I know if it is indexing my library?" First, it won't start indexing until the program is actually installed and your resources have been confirmed with Logos. You can use the program if it is indexing, but not everything will work right.

Observation: serial number is needed during initial Logos.com account setup to associate resource licenses with your Logos.com account. Wonder if one who gave you gift has record of purchase (possibly with Logos) so Logos customer support could associate appropriate resource licenses without needing a serial number.

Logos software is free, but resources are not. Indexing is done after resource files are downloaded
