Sermons in PBB

Hi everyone,

I want to start putting my future sermon manuscripts into PBB but want to ensure that I am maximizing PBB's abilities. So here are some questions:

1. As I write future sermons is there a way to tag illustrations (i.e. - an illustration on raising children) so that one day I can search and find all my old illustrations on raising children?

2. Any other other ideas to maximize sermon manuscripts for search capabilities?

3. Can someone explain milestones and how they might be beneficial to sermons?

4. Is there any way to upload 9 years worth of all old sermons faster than just one at a time? I am guessing not since you have to write in each title.

First, you can do this, though answering your points below requires some careful thought.

However, there is a Sermon File Add-in (SFA) coming. The SFA in Libronix included a module for illustrations and another for sermons. Both included indexes that included dates, topics, passages, and tags. I am waiting patiently for the SFA and won't be putting my sermons into PB format, since the SFA should be so much more powerful and (I trust) easier to use.

Logos has been promising the SFA 'soon' though I'm guessing that SFA will built built using the basic PB engine. With the PBB out now and mostly finished (syncing between computers remains on the "to do" list), the SFA should be out shortly, I think.

My advice is to wait. We've done without the PB tool for this long, we can wait a bit longer for the SFA too.

I envision doing my sermons with PBB as a 'book' based on the Lectionary Year.

I found the original sermon add in file 'encouraged' publication and sharing of my sermons...

I am not sure I want all my stuff 'public' even though you could choose the option not to share it was not the default option ...you had to remember to choose it.

PBB will let you add multiple 'files' so once you get your 'format' fixed with a good templete you can have milestones for topics, dates, scripture, or like me liturgical dates and days and seasons.

I began doing this with L3 and PBB before we switched to L4 and had to wait for the updated PBB so it is a matter of taking all my sermons from 1985 to the present and creating books which looks like it will be very easy with the new PBB once I figure out the quirks....

I just wish this had come out in June so I had all summer at it instead of just the end of August....
