PBB Information

Where in Logos does my Personal books show up? How can I best search them? Do they appear in my PG? To me it would not be very helpful to have a bunch of my personal books just scattered at random throughout Logos with no way being able to remember all of the different personal books that I have. Or does it place them under one heading?

Hi Michael
In your library or collections you can filter on "Edition" with "User Created" being your personal books.
In a Basic Search of your library they will appear under the "My Books" section
If your PBs are tagged as Bible Commentaries they will appear in a PG in the same way as a Logos-provided commentary would. There is currently a bug which means they don't show in Collections in the PG
Hope this helps

Graham,
I take it doing a basic search will be the only way to find stuff within PB's right now (as opposed to PG being able to find material)? My main focus has been PB'ing a lot of Spurgeon's sermons, and I would like SOME way to be able to find a sermon on particular texts. Now I know why I can't do it in my normal guide at least - thanks for that much.

Yes for now you will need to use a Basic Search unless you are working with PBs tagged as "Bible Commentaries" - which would show in the PG.

Unfortunately I have created a PBB as a commentary and it still doesn't show up in the Passage Guide.

Gary,
I remember learning that PB Commentaries get tagged in a special way (i.e. you have to mark all the passages by hand). Your book may "come up", but if it doesn't have the special tags for the passage you are looking up, it won't have any results to give you.
Sorry if I don't have all the technical terminology right - it's late.

You need to have it listed as Type: Bible Commentary in the personal books tool. You need it to be prioritized in your library near the top of your commentaries. And your MS Word document should look something like the screen shot below. My commentary shows up in the passage guide. Hope this helps.

I have my PBB set as Bible Commentary and have them prioritized at the top of the Commentaries, but it appear that I have to have the Bible Reference Milestones created in the PBB for the Passage Guide to find them.
OK, Thanks so much.

Yes, you must have Bible milestones for Bibles, Bible Notes and Bible Commentary, but you can use the familiar format [[@Bible:Jn 2:14]]
