Bug: Fading away

My avatar disappeared yesterday. It appears quite nicely in my profile and account but no longer shows in the forum. Suggestions?

You're not using <whisper> "internet explorer" are you?

Nope, I'm strictly a firefox kinda gal.

Another user had a similar difficulty, which was rectified by switching browsers. Are you up to date with firefox (version 6???)?

We who use IE don't have those problems. The avatar probably got consigned to the flames of the Firefox. [:D]

Ahh, but the person I speak of WAS using IE... Therefore the problem must be the OS [:P]

Peace and Joy and Love to you, Alabama! *smile* and to all Brothers and Sisters on the Forums! And! Always Joy in the Lord!
I may be the one to whom you are referring when I was receiving my picture on someone else's (Shawn!) avatar when that person posted. I wondered why he was using my avatar... *smile*
Did not have the problem in Google Chrome or Safari or Mozilla Fire Fox!
So, in retrospect, my logic was faulty as your logic is faulty now. *smile*
What fixed it finally was removing from my desktop tray an old and worn-out shortcut that I had pasted there for easy access to the Forums.
When I renewed that shortcut by deleting and re-pinning it, the problem was over!
Since then I haven't used that method to access the Forums and have had no further problem.
Replaced it just now to visually show what I had done.
Personally prefer IE9!
I realise that this may not apply in MJ's situation.....
Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand..........

I remembered it was you, but didn't want to drag your name into an opportunity to tease George. [:)]

No, Rick, it doesn't sound silly because I have done a serious cleaning of temporary and unused files and cleared cache but not cookies. While I suspect it may be related, I can't quite fit the piece that for nearly a day it was only my own avatar that was missing - then it started to spread.
