Has anyone rooted a nook touch (the touch e-ink reader) and running the logos app.

I would buy it just to run logos and evernote to copy and paste from logos.

Any issues, etc. would be great to know before purchasing

Yep; several ways--I'm running off the SD Card only, but others went for the full root.  Both work, but only if you follow instructions & use the right components.  That said, my SD-card version isn't 100% solid and the Color Nook doesn't get the same long battery life (but I'm also running a bunch of other apps).

Logos provides some advice in this link, and later in that set of threads I link to a detailed forum post on rooting.

I have a Nook Touch (e-ink) rooted and I was just using it last night at church.  A few things to keep in mind.  First, rooting is not terribly hard but you have to follow instructions that can be 10-20 steps, download various files, and so on.  Second, once it's rooted, some apps still don't work, or they flash/refresh the screen a lot (example: the Kindle app has extra flashes due to page turn animations that can't currently be disabled).  Third, there are several steps to switch between the Logos app and other apps.  Finally, the latest version of the beta (beta 8, last I checked) is needed so you can increase the font size to Large because Normal is  way too small to read comfortably, for me at least.  Hope that helps.

Also there is no copy/paste function in the Logos for Android app at this stage, at least that I'm aware of.

I see now that I missed the OP's ?...but impressive to get a Nook Touch to run Logos "useably"--navigating the library must be interesting!

Useably is probably a matter of opinion.  [:)]  Regardless, it's not too hard to navigate the library if I type in the name of a book and search for it...the page next/back buttons also can be used to scroll through the list, if I'm remembering correctly at the moment.  So it's a bit tedious but not horrible.

I also have a rooted nook touch running the logos app. I think it works great. Navigation is not that big of an issue for me since the main thing I use it for is reading a book from cover to cover. Just search your library for the book you want to read and then download it to the device. Then you can read it without an internet connection. The extra flash does not bother me at all since it only occurs when you turn the page and lasts for half a second. Now the rooting process is completely automated, just copy the file to an sd card and pop it in and reboot. After that, I did had to do a little bit of tweaking to get access to the app store (install an updated app store apk), and I was reading. Now I can get books from Amazon, B&N, and Logos and read it all on an e-ink screen.

I'd be super interested in seeing a rough video or something of what the usability is like on this...seems like a perfect world to have my logos books on e-ink.

Any Nook Touch root users who could do something like this for others to see?

I'll just pile on that I really like my rooted NOOK touch!  It's a great option that people should consider.
