In the good ol' days, some apparently thought it was more rational and simpler to express BCV citations by using Roman numerals for the chapter number, e.g. Matthew XVI 16, instead of Matthew 16:16. (Sort of like some modern financial software thinks it is better to express today's date as 4-Sep-2011, rather than 9/4/2011; a real productivity boon </sarcasm>).
However, the really good idea was from Logos, who programmed the PB compiler to recognize odd stuff like this.
