Just curious, (probably I don't have a patience) how long approximately do you think
The Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges (57 vols.) will take CP to make it. (2 years, a year, or sooner).
My guess would be close to forever. There seems to be less interest in this than there was in Barnes even though this is a superior work. I have a few of the volumes in print. They are brief and certainly dated, but useful. And did I say they were more valuable than Barnes??

And they have an iphone icon, whereas Barnes does not.
Several of the CP offerings are missing the iPhone icon. But I think it may just be oversight. I don't know of any currently available public domain resources that aren't available on the iPhone.

What is needed is a guide for exegesis of logos.com.
Should we cancel our Barnes orders and put them all on this? [Has a book ever lost after clearing 100%]

Talk about a loaded question. [;)]
Barnes has an audience and I would never suggest that folks who like it should not have it now that it is available
These are very different resources and meet the needs of a different set of users.

No, once a book clears CP doesn't lose out through later cancelations.

SAD! I have the Cambridge Greek Testament in hardback. I agree that Cambridge Greek Testament and Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges are both superior works to Barnes.
I am tempted to put in an order for you just so you can discover how good Barnes really is.
What a fine fellow you are. It certainly would have to be much better than I've ever discovered. I already have a whole group of commentaries I never access now (no time to wade through them). Why add another that I don't truly value.
I believe the Cambridge Greek Testament is the most helpful. Let's put our effort in getting it on the communinty pricing done list! This is one of the few very good major Greek commentaries not found in Logos!

Probably more than a year. I am interested in this set because I want to understand the theological thinking back in the late 19th/early 20th century. I like to have different views even though my personal views are generally conservative.

I'm in...
The group of scholars that were responsible for the set were part of the Westcott-Lightfoot-Hort generation. They were also part of the scholarship behind the ERV (later American Standard Version of 1901 in America). They also were part of the production of the Cambridge Greek Testament.

You bring up a good point here. I know some users don't have the time, desire or money to add something to their Logos library that they don't agree with or can't help them in their present vocational responsibilities. But others may want to gain a better understanding of differing perspectives. I am very conservative theologically and my opinion of some of the conclusions of 19th/20th century scholars is ..... Well, let's just say I want to gain better insight into WHY and HOW that generation of theologians came to those conclusions.
I am not sure nor do I care. It takes as long as it takes. This product was previously on PrePub for I think $249.. not sure.. I ordered it back then.. then it changed to CP and I said I would pay a bit more than the current price of $50 so I'm happy all the way around. It takes as long as it takes.. I'll get it when its done for much cheaper than I originally said I would pay.
And that is why we need this set

We will see only the conclusions. But in this set we may be able to get their conclusions at the verse level and imply the How and Why. Need to raise my bid - this thread has taught me that this is worth more than my current bid.
My guess would be close to forever...

In deed, on the other hand, I find it difficult to justify spending money for a commentary which lacks the Deuterocanical books, so I guess it goes both ways.

YES! Jay Adams says there is nothing in print even today that does as good a job with the Greek text in a concise way as the Cambridge Greek Testament!
Don't forget this:

I'm looking forward to getting both of them. While there is some duplication in the notes for the NT books, per what I could see in the previews, they both look well worth the price.
If all the Scripture references are hot-linked/mouse-over-linked, this will be quite the set to have.
I do not understand the lack of interest in this.
I don't either. The Community Pricing bid is so much cheaper than the first Pre-Pub price. (Less than a buck a book.)
Same here. I am surprise both resources have not made it through to the production stage.

I hope to be proven wrong.
It almost begins to look as though you may be correct. This was supposed to ship today, but it's 6:30 Bellingham time and I'm still waiting.
Mine's downloading ... give it a little more time ...

Got mine about 1/2 hour ago.
Got mine. And I have downloaded it to iPad, too. Didn't expect it on iPad for a week or so. Now that is great work Logos!
My guess would be close to forever... I hope to be proven wrong.
I am most happy to have been proven wrong. It is really nice to see an older resource like this get some respect and be available (at least at CP prices) for so little. Thanks to all who participated and to Logos for offering it.

I finally got both copies of mine (L3 & L4).
