IPad sync issues: adding my voice
As others have posted, I am experiencing problems with my iPad and iPhone being able to sync with my reading plans for logos. I am operating from Vista-based PC's on Logos 4 (most recent update). What makes this problem particularly frustrating is that 4 months ago I successfully created 3 reading plans, which I have recently completed. It is unclear to me why I was able to sync before and cannot now. Those reading plans were created on my PC, and not only did they successfully show up on my iPad, but as I read on my iPad the "mark read" function updated my readings on my PC's . There are only two differences of which I am aware between now and 4 months ago; 1) I have added an iPhone, and 2) There have been updates to the Logos software.
Forum advice that I have seen has suggested two approaches to solving the problem: 1) to force the iPad app to renew its login to Logos, and 2) to delete the iPad app and reload it.
I have tried both of these approaches, without success. I do, of course, have the "Read the Bible in a Year" reading plan, which even when deleted, returns without fail... so apparently some kind of sync is happening. The "Devotionals" section and "News" sections also seem to update successfully.
I have set up a couple of prayer lists on my PC, which are not syncing to the iPad, but since I have not tried this before, I do not know if they are supposed to sync to my iPad or iPhone.

I have exactly the same issue, but did not add the iPhone. I did however update the Logos software and that is when these issues started. 2 weeks ago I started trying to find some solutions and finally called support. They had me do all the things I had already done (delete the iPad app, reinstall, delete reading plans, etc.). Finally they just said give it some time. I too have the "Read the Bible in a Year" reading plan, 5 of them actually, and even when I delete them at least one returns starting on that day.
What's frustrating is that Logos obviously knows this is an issue and after 2 weeks (at least) the answer is still "wait." The irony is that a few times lately when I start the app on the iPad I get the notification, "Rate Logos." Talk about bad timing.

We are currently in the midst of a general overhaul of our Sync Framework that should solve the issues we have been experiencing with reading plans and other data.
In addition to solving some bugs like this one, the overhaul will allow for a slew of new features and accessibility on our Mobile apps.
This will be a major change to the software though it will be largely invisible to the user. As such, I really cannot say when that change will be rolled out: any number of issues could delay release significantly.
Thanks,

Is one of those new features "Private Reading Plans"? I won't use the reading plans feature on any Logos platform until they can be completely private (yet syncable across my devices).

Hi Donnie
In view of the fact that Logos is a one user programme - i.e. it is private to you (with an accepted exception of the person who may be one flesh with you) - in what way would you require it to be more 'Private'?

My understanding, which could be wrong, is that any reading plan I
create automatically is sync'd to the Logos "cloud" and available for
any other Logos user to see and use.Donnie

I think you are probably confusing Reading Plans with Reading Lists. Reading Lists are public, but Reading Plans can only be accessed by you or someone using your login, as far as I am aware. They are synced (when it's working) to the Logos "cloud" infrastructure.

Any new updates as to when the sync feature (or the "change") will be rolled out? I'm hoping that maybe there could be a hinted timeline since it's been a month and a half or so...

Guy - First, welcome to the forums!
Any new updates as to when the sync feature (or the "change") will be rolled out?
4.5 is currently in beta, which begins these changes. It must be implemented first on the desktop app before being rolled out to the mobile app.

Welcome [:D]
Noticed thread => Reading plan sync status includes Logos developer insight on 26 Oct 2011:
We are aiming to use Sync v2 for reading plans by the end of the year.
Hoping for Happy Holidays with sync v2 (albeit wallet may be crying from Logos sales).
Keep Smiling [:)]
