Holman HCSB missing in library, but appears at biblia.com

Hi,

At biblia.com I can find HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible) in my library. But in Logos 4 (Mac), I can't find it in the library - I can find my NASB, ESV, NLT, etc., but Holman doesn't show up. I tried searching HCSB, Holman, bible, and nothing comes up.

How do I get the HCSB, and for that matter, any other books that *should* be in my library that aren't.

Depending on what base package you have, there will be a number of Bibles available online that aren't available in Logos (several non-English versions, for example). Are you sure that HCSB should be in your library? It should be unless you have an old base package, or unless you have Original Languages (see www.logos.com/compare)?

You might want to consider upgrading your base package. There are current discounts which will be expiring at the end of this month.

I am considering it, but I don't know how it will benefit me. I don't really need the HCSB, for example. I haven't used logos much in the past few years, and I'm slowly trying to rediscover it and get used to it. What if I'm happy with the books I have now - what benefit is there to paying $230 for an upgrade (the minimum)? So far, all my books and resources seem to be 'working' fine within Logos 4 Mac. I can read them, search text, etc.

The software is generally considered "free," although there are some features which only work with paid resource upgrades. This may be the case for you. I don't know what resources you have, nor do I know which ones you might gain. I also don't know how you might use these resources. Are you a lay leader or a vocational minister?

Also, you can always call Logos to see if they can get you a better deal. Sometimes they can. What can you lose? [:)]

The HCSB was introduced into base packages with the release of Logos 3.0. Presumably that means you have Logos Series X, which was released many years ago - which means there'd be an awful lot new if you upgraded to Logos 4. If you don't have Logos Series X (or any of the Original Languages packages) then you should have HCSB. Otherwise you'll have to count online access as an unexpected blessing, and live without it in Logos proper [:)]

I think I originally bought version 2.0. After that, I don't recall the names of the new versions (3.0, then X or something like that). At some point, I believe I did pay extra to upgrade one of the versions.

In answer to your question alabama24, I'm not a lay leader or vocational minister. At one point, I was studying biblical greek and recently thought I might refresh my Greek knowledge. In my word studies, I like to search for various forms and tenses of greek verbs and find nouns in certain cases (ex: genitive). So, I like the greek texts and the tools to search them

I'll call logos soon and see if I can get a good explanation of the details on what would benefit me to upgrade.

@Mark... yes, the HCSB online is an unexpected blessing - very nice to have there.
